Snakes, snakes, snakes
April 14th, 2010 at 4:28 pm
laughing at the Yankees message board thread title:
“Javy Jarrible”
Sporting almost a 10 ERA after two starts. How evil is it too like that?
April 14th, 2010 at 4:34 pm
Sssssssssssssssssss.
April 14th, 2010 at 4:39 pm
Curt, I don’t care how you “think” you feel. You should be all healed up from the removal of your gall bladder. Lay off the happy pills. And for the record, I only deal with snakes on Sundays.

Yeah, I’m a (sucker) Insider now. Here’s something to make our stomachs hurt:
Andrew (Atlanta)
Jurrjens!? One more start like the last until we start hearing about his shoulder again?
Jerry Crasnick (12:21 PM)
Andrew, I talked to a scout who said Jair Jurrjens didn’t look like himself in his first start, either. The Braves can say what they want. But given that scare early in spring training, you have to wonder if he’s healthy. It’s reflected in his lack of command as much as his velocity.

It is completely evil to like that about Javy, Bub! Our rooting for and against ex-teammates is, of course, totally irrational. For me, if they were really bad at the end (see Kelly Johnson) or whined and had bad attitudes on the way out (see Francoeur) then I tend to root against them. Javy falls into neither category so I have only good will toward him. Of course, as time passes, I tend to drift back toward rooting for them (see Andruw).
April 14th, 2010 at 5:03 pm
I don’t want Javy to suffer. I just want the “traded your ace” BS to not be one more thing thrown on this pile of poo beginning. Also, he’s a Yankee.
Let him stink it up for just one year, return to the NL, and pick up a Cy.

Phillies during J Rollins’ last DL stint: 16-12
April 14th, 2010 at 5:20 pm
Bub, how’s your fiber intake been lately? I think you’re a bit locked up if you know what I mean. Go out and get you some greens or just borrow Curt’s meds. Either one will make you feel better.
April 14th, 2010 at 5:37 pm
Listening to Bobby Cox keeps me plenty regular.
I’m joining Curt on the Dark Side. (I know he’s been floundering, but he’ll be back. I’ve got confidence). You and Steve and Tcc can keep up the good fight.
It actually feels alright to give up hoping for the Braves. It’s interesting, the effect. I still get to root for them. Still get to watch the games. Still get to enjoy victories. But all without that lost look on my face I get when I’ve just been thinking we were serious about contending. I’m wondering what the advantage is to the other way.
Go Bobby!!! 8)

I’d much rather believe and be disappointed than lose hope and have to admit it after they prove themselves but we’re all wired differently. Here’s a heart warming story for ya.

Diaz leading off… Ok. McLouth after Heyward…what?
April 14th, 2010 at 6:47 pm
Hmm. That’s actually a good looking line up. I mean, for what we have. If McLouth started hitting… and we used that line up…
NO! MUST… RESIST!! We SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!
April 14th, 2010 at 8:28 pm
Is it good that your 20 yr old, rookie, #7 hitter has half of the teams 6 (!) freaking homeruns?
April 14th, 2010 at 8:35 pm
More than the clean up hitter? The right handed POWER BAT? Well, what if you threw in all the Spring Training HR’s from the POWER BAT?
April 14th, 2010 at 9:37 pm
I’m predicting a 4-1 win tonight.
April 14th, 2010 at 9:45 pm
Frenchy homers again. Andruw homers again. Phillies are down by 3, no wait, up by 1, no wait, down by 2, no wait, up by 3. I guess they’ll stop scoring some day.
Curt, the hell’s wrong with you?
April 14th, 2010 at 9:53 pm
Braves win tonight, 7-1, Chipper and B Mac go back to back.
April 14th, 2010 at 9:56 pm
Don’t worry, Bub. I will pick up Curtis’ dark gauntlet (twss).
I am seriously depressed about this team. Sure, give me a couple of wins and everything will be different, but for now, all of the festering if’s have a weird smell coming out of them.
April 14th, 2010 at 10:16 pm
A big omen happened today. Jo Jo went on the DL. Maybe the cloud will be lifted. Plus, the Padres are terrible. I mean, come on, the Padres?
Is it bad that I woke up for the start of the game. I’m not my dad. I’m his dad.
April 14th, 2010 at 10:38 pm
Leah – that’s an amazing story.
Now dammit – let’s score some freaking runs. I am beside myself over here!
April 14th, 2010 at 10:52 pm
Steve, who’s that beside you? Would it be yourself, for all love? Sorry, reading too much Aubrey/Maturin.
Go Braves!
April 14th, 2010 at 10:57 pm
It’s Clayton Richard. What can ya do?
April 14th, 2010 at 11:00 pm
What’s the over/under for Glaus’ HR’s as a Brave? 5??
April 14th, 2010 at 11:06 pm
What’d I miss.
