A character like Edmund may know a great deal about white witches but what does he know of dark lords? I’m sticking with VoldeLowe. Steve, that twss was as funny as “rusty Wags”. I laughed way out loud. Ok…so the Braves should have done better against the slow throwing old men. Noted…again. And I would agree that Houston sucks the big one. But we didn’t just beat Houston. As Steve mentioned on the show…we dominated them as we should have. So can’t we, on this off day, hope this team has found a little fire and will be a lot better than they were during the 9 game losing streak?

Nice move on the new format. I’m sure the iPhoners will be thankful about Wednesday.

Glad you like the new comments format. Hammy’s idea, executed by our producer Mike.

I think I’ve done a little of both, if you’ll go through the comments. I’m proud of them for stomping the Stros.
Moyer’s everybody-but-us egg layin’ brought out a delayed reaction, as I explained. After that, I responded to the conversation it started.

Yikes. Sorry. Rough afternoon.

Apology accepted. Sorry about the bad day. I’m sure you are using logic and statistics but to assume this team is going to be a .500 team would totally bum me out. I think we were half way through the dreaded losing streak before I changed my name from Mary Sunshine. I’m sure I’ll be even more bummed later but I’ll think about that tomorrow. Hey maybe my new name can be Scarlett O.
Thanks Hammy and Mike the Producer for the new format. I may or may not possibly be smitten with you both. Ok…I’m over it.

Great show, as usual.
Lowedemort
6-3
Bobby’s advice: Cerebral flatulence
Chipper has to suck it up and switch to a lighter bat. When you can no longer catch up to a fastball, you have to drop your pride for the good of the team. I think that may be part of the reason he keeps “pulling a Chipper.” I mean, its not like he is the CEO of the lumber company anymore!
I think this is an above .500 team when McCann, Diaz, and a healthy Escobar come back around to their old selves. I’ll do even better, I predict a comeback to fight for the wild card. I think the Nats and Fish will fall. I still worry that the Mets are better when healthy.

Let’s not forget that the Braves made Tony Saunders the first overall pick in the expansion draft in 97 by none other than McOut’s Rays. All he did was beat the Braves three times that year. And when I say that’s all he did that year, I mean that’s really all he did. He was pedestrian. Mediocre. Bad. But what he did was beat the Braves in his first three major league starts. In dominant fashion. He beat no one else, but it was enough to convince the D Rays to make the him the #1 overall pick. This is nothing new, sadly. That was 1997. It’s like their scouts don’t pay attention or something. I cringe when we face a rookie.

I’m liking Lowedemort.
And I think the Mets got nothing. They will start to collapse even before the AS break. That pitching is bad and it will catch up with them.

Well Hammy…I tried.

I wonder about the Phils pitching, too. If the Braves can get their act together they could do something in this division. I like how one of you guys mentioned on the show that Infante should play more. He could play everyday. When Escobar comes back he could play middle infield- put Prado at 3rd to give Chipper a day off- or in the outfield. I wish Bobby would try him as our leadoff guy. I just don’t think my namesake has what it takes to consistently be the go to leadoff guy. Infante was great last year before he broke his hand. He reminds me a lot of Placido Polanco. Both guys always hit and play solid defense. I just think him and Prado would be a great one two punch all year.It would be a double shot of Venezuelan fire to get our lineup going everyday.

Lowedemort it is (but only if we can change Edmund’s name to Munded – fair is fair).
May 3rd, 2010 at 11:13 pm
Hammy – I’ll inform Edmund of his name change in the morning. I don’t think he’s going to like it much.
The Phils pitching is extremely suspect, minus the ungodly Halladay, of course. My fear is that Blanton becomes some kind of stabilizing force when he returns. Happ had a set back yesterday, btw.

Bub, I sense a theme here.
May 4th, 2010 at 9:17 pm
Expos doing it again..Grrrrrrrrr!
May 4th, 2010 at 9:29 pm
Curt, is it the Bird & Brave theme?
May 4th, 2010 at 9:41 pm
This is quite discouraging. This is not the game to kick off this road trip. 3-6
May 4th, 2010 at 9:43 pm
The radio guys were talking about who might start on Saturday, and Jo-Jo’s name was mentioned. Please tell me this can’t be. Is he going to be given ANOTHER chance. Jo-JO vs the Phillies sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Why can’t we beat the Natinals?
May 4th, 2010 at 9:44 pm
I got dibs on 3-6 already.
Jurrjens missing Saturday, though… so… 2-7 might not be out of reach.
May 4th, 2010 at 9:46 pm
Bubdoubter was right. We suck. I hate life.
May 4th, 2010 at 9:50 pm
The Hawks are losing 85-44 at the end of the third, which reminds me of a November college basketball score when D-I teams play much weaker I-AA teams. Not looking to be a good day for ATL sports. The Braves being down 3 with their offense feels about the same as the Hawks being down 41. You would think they would have a pretty good scouting report on Livan with his career 5-15 record against the Braves.

Go ahead and Tase me, Bro…
