The Natinals announced at 7pm that Strasburg will start June 8th against the Buccos. By 9pm the Natinals had sold out the game. Wow! Dugout Box seats going for $2,000. Wow!

Braves actually got a little love from Baseball Tonight. Wow! On a less surprising note, Bobby Valentine is still very annoying. The Mets get more coverage on that show when they’re in last than the Braves do when they’re in first. The Mets suck and get more coverage than the Rays, best team in baseball, ever do. They talk about the Mets staff more than the Rays staff, which at one point had three guys with 5-1 like records and low ERAs. ESPN has completely sold it’s sole to New York and Boston.

I say 5-1 like because I think Price’s record was 6-1 at the time, and Garza and Shields were still at 5-1. Since then Garza and Shields have come back to Earth. Now Shields is 5-3, Price 7-2, and Garza 5-3. Wade Davis, their #5 is 5-4, and Niemann is 5-0. I’m really looking forward to that series. The Rays aren’t playing as well as they once were, and I think the Braves can get ‘em with the series being at the Ted. Plus they got Soriano in the 9th, lol. Soriano has a lot of saves, but believe me, a lot of those saves have been shaky at best. GO BRAVES!

Bub – Totally. I have done it like five times today. I didn’t realize that we had the best home record in the majors. Holy cr&p. We are good. Seriously.

Gotta win tomorrow. Gotta keep this going. We can beat Hamels. Hudson is a stud. I LOVE WINNING BASEBALL!

Considering how bad our offense was in April and how good Ubaldo Jimenez is, 10-1 with like a 0.78 ERA in 11 starts, I no longer feel as bad about that no-no. Especially considering the garbage line up used for that game. In reality, when you factor the garbage line up and his pitching together, then the no-no is not that surprising to me. I heard on Mike and Mike that he is having the best year a pitcher has ever had in 90 years. My advice to the Braves if they have to face him again is to try to work the pitch count and hope for the bullpen.
Really really hope the Southern Gentleman, Timmy Hudson, dominates pretty boy Cole Hamels and the Phils tonight. Have fun at the game everybody. I’ll be watching you on ESPN from South Florida. I really hope Hershiser isn’t calling the game because he always finds ways to knock the Braves. I guess that loser is still bitter about 95. I guess being a former Dodger and the Braves and dodgers kind of having a past rivalry might explain it too. Regardless, Orel Hershiser is a loser. That said, GO BRAVES! Anne, you know your job when #22 goes yard tonight.

There’s a nice piece on the AJC site comparing the Braves two months. It’s written by Carroll Rogers, who is subbing for David O’Brien before he goes on the 11 game road trip with our tomahawk clad heroes. Both beat writers do a great job covering the Braves, of which I’m sure all you other fanatics are well aware.

Steve, you should check the article out, it will ease your worry that there might be some tension between Glavine and the Tommy Gun.

Jayson Stark, “If the Braves play the way they were supposed to play, they could run away with the division.” This was said in reference to the 20-8 record while being 10th in the league in quality starts and with a struggling Chipper, Mac, and Esky. Buster Olney has been drinking the Braves Kool-Aid, too. Everyone is impressed with what our guys our doing with no JJ and our three perceived top offensive players struggling.

    “Mara” – re # 166 – no way – not till after we’re ahead in the 5th.

    BluesMan Says:

Did any of you guys notice the comment made during the Sunday game? They were talking about the Phillies before they came into town, & (I think it was Glavine) said (I’m paraphrasing): Isn’t it funny that 16 or 17 days ago they got issued a verbal warning by MLB for being accused of stealing signs, & since then their offense has sizzled out?”

BURN. I think whoever said that has a point.

1st in the N.L. East…Currently the hottest team in Baseball…FEAR THE CHOP SHOP…GO BRAVES!!!

  22. 172
    Steve Says:

Yeah – I saw that. Pretty cool to read about it. So, the line up is out. And what we called for in the show this past Sunday is here: 1. Prado 2B, 2. Heyward RF, 3. Jones 3B, 4. Glaus 1B, 5. McCann C, 6. Escobar SS, 7. Infante LF, 8. Cabrera CF, 9. Hudson P

I’m so stupid, ridiculously excited about tonight.

  23. 173
    Steve Says:

BluesMan – while I don’t really believe the MLB warning thing, it’s certainly fun to believe that it’s part of the reason. In other words, I don’t just want to destroy the Phillies, I want them to be pathetic, weak cheaters too!

  24. 174
The Blogger Formerly Known As McOut Says:

Oh my god, Infante in LF. I am right there with you on tonight Steve. Maybe Bobby has been listening to the show. It is a good show. One of the highlights of my weekend every time. Maybe Bobby also figured out that McOut has as many hits over the past 2 weeks as the pitching staff. You gotta get O his deserved ABs. I just hope it doesn’t take him to long too get it going again after essentially not playing since Escobar’s been back. Bobby has been O’s Iago over the past month. O has actually hit righties better this year, which means he’s probably an everyday player on most other teams. Love this line up. Did Bobby actually make this line up? I still can’t believe it.

Awesome, when I went over and reread that post I corrected the wrong “to” to “too”. I’m so excited I can’t think straight: intoxication from good baseball!
