    Curt Says:

I think I am going to start calling him the Waffler

    Steve Says:

Quite a strange couple of hours. The Braves PR department just sent out a press release stating that Chipper would not be holding a press conference today and that he was not available to the media prior to the game this afternoon.

    Mara Wanna Says:

McWaffler is in the 3 hole…per protocol.

    Zombub Says:

And what, pray tell, is “pulling a Bub?” Grumble.

    Welcome to Wafflehouse Says:

Sigh. Chipper. And don’t look now, but ESPN took the ball and ran away with it.

Just what we wanted to be concentrating on during the Rays series. Why can’t he just stop saying stuff until he’s ready to say something decisive. We’ve all seen this show before. At least Bobby wasn’t Waffled.

    Steve Says:

For the record, I don’t think this is as big a distraction as it’s being made to be. This should actually put to rest a lot of the speculation that’s been in the air.

Tweet from the AJC a few minutes ago: Bobby Cox on meeting w Jones: The best I can say is he’s planning on retiring after this year, but we won’t know until he tells you guys.

    Anne Says:

I’m only distracted by the sweet smell of waffles. …or maybe that’s the funnel cake talkin’.

    Mara Wanna Says:

“pulling a Bub” is posting something borderline absurd as a joke. However, some of us tha will remain nameless tend to buy hook, line an sinker.

    Anne Says:

Bub – I’m gonna guess that “pulling a Bub” means having a little fun with the Board via misleading hilarity. Like…go to this site and you’ll see Chipper’s press conference live!! http://beedogs.com/index_files/page0008.htm

    Anne Says:

    #33 & #34 – “that’s what she said” LITERALLY!!
    Headed to The Ted…Go Braves!!

    Mara Wanna Says:

So jealous of Anne right now…can’t see straight.

  12. 37
    Curt Says:

Anne, are you going tomorrow? I shall be there then.

    Tcc Says:

Rain delay gave me time to finally listen to the show. Good job Curt, Ball Park and Scot. Speaking of the delay..on the radio show a caller asked, with Diaz out, who is the emergency catcher? They said it’s actually Tommy Hanson!! Could that be real?

Chipper as batting coach?? Well that would solve at least two problems!

    Go Braves!

  14. 39
    Tcc Says:

Rain Delay (equivalent to a West Coast start) = Bedtime before the Bravos come to bat. Daggum it!

    Show All Says:

    Tedious…

  16. 41
    Anne Says:

Curt – plannin’ to be here, yes. I might just camp out in the parking lot!

  17. 42
    Bub Says:

Go Bravos! Beat the Rays! (tomorrow :( )

  18. 43
    Mara Wanna Says:

I’m not giving up. We can come back. :)

  19. 44
    Show All Says:

Hey, maybe the Braves will give KK no run support and then come back late and win!!! Has that ever happened before??

  20. 45
    Curt Says:

Not with Price pitching and 4 errors

  21. 46
    Mara Wanna Says:

Oh Brooksy. I always assume serious clutch hits from him but I guess I have to allow him to be human. I wish Melky had made it to 2nd. I’m listening to the game on my phone which means I can’t talk to you fine people AND listen at the same time. I miss my peeps!

  22. 47
    Mara Wanna Says:

I’m glad we got all the wrinkles out tonight. Gotta beat ‘em tomorrow.

  23. 48
    BluesMan Says:

Great show this time. Missed Steve & Hammy…but very glad to hear from Ballpark Frank & Scott.

    Concerning tonight’s game…Hello Chris Resop…GOODBYE Chris Resop.

    Nate Says:

As a younger fan, this is a sad day. I will always respect and love CJ for what he was and admire him for what he is doing. My brothers and father are comparing it to being bigger than Ozzie Smith’s retirement (The other 1/2 of fam is from StL), so I hope he gets the fanfare he deserves. For a Cards fan since the 40s, my Dad, to say that to me, it says a lot. (but he has been a closet Braves fan since I started rooting for them.- age 5) Chipper will be respected forever, especially if he ends it on his own terms. My dad doesn’t get on his high horse for many athletes, since he was an olympian (and I will leave it at that for privacy reasons- he kicked a ball for a while), but to hear what he said about CJ was pretty special for me. He went pretty far back in Cards folklore for comparisons. I love this game.GO BRAVES!

    Nate Says:

Bub, You were upset or annoyed (you did quote it) that I called the offensive performance aganst Ian Kennedy “pathetic”. You did pedict the Braves making the playoffs. My obvious assumption is that pitchers who are better than Ian Kennedy will be pitching at that time (the playoffs), and that is why I called the performance on that day pathetic. I usually don’t defend a post, but a critique of a critique from you, of all people, is amusing. I’m sorry I offended you, but I feel no runs against Ian Kennedy is a sign of bad things to come. I’m sorry if I have offended you, and I’m sure you’ll let me know if a I have. Also, please excuse any grammatical errors. I haven’t taken an English class in over half a decade, nor do I work in a profession that requirea it.
