Well, tonight was disappointing (from an outcome perspective). Lowe pitched a hell of a game. I really wish that Venters had kept it at a one run game. Not that we were getting much off of Halladay, but it would have been nice to go to the 9th only down 1. Nice of the Mets to lose …
Great show guys. What a great win last night. When Chavez came in I was preparing myself for another late-inning letdown, which made me really excited when we won. Great games from JJ and Diaz. I hope the guys can figure out their old nemesis Jamie Moyer tonight.
Howdy Folks! Who missed me? I haven’t had a chance to listen to anything yet but I can’t wait! Just a few thoughts from this week of glory: Roy Halliday is insane and looks like a closer after 9 innings, Braves are awesome, I’m in love with Martin Prado.
I can’t help the way I swoon when Meadow bumps his fists together before each at bat. Cause and affect my friend. Cause. And. Affect (or effect…can never remember).
It’s hard to pick a more hated team between the Mets and Phillies. I believe, if my knowledge of history is accurate, former President FDR was faced with a similar decision many many years before my time, Germany or Japan. FDR decided why hate/destroy just one when you can hate/destroy both… Fuming with national pride after the recent holiday, I will be very FDR-like and vow to hate both equally and hope for the destruction of both come October. Go Braves.
Who got the worse deal this offseason, Cavs fans or Hawks fans? I think Hawks fans. Cavs fans can now stop worrying about the playoffs, whereas Hawks fans get to look forward to certain disappointment in the playoffs for the remainder of Joe Johnson’s contract. (For the record, I am a Hawks fan)
Mara, in gambling, it means you’ve won, say, a thousand dollars from the Casino. So you put your own money that you brought to gamble with back in your wallet and spend the rest of the night “Playing with house money” because you can’t lose any of your own. The house means, you know, the establishment, as in, drinks are on the house.
The Braves have built a three game lead with three games to go till the break. If they push ahead by winning two or three games, great. But even if they lose all three, oh well, we’re in first place tie with the Mets and Heyward’s coming back soon. Etc, etc.
Of course, it’s better not to lose the house money, either… but it’s less urgent.
Got it…I see your point but I really wanna win. Actually, I really wanna sweep. Wish I could watch all three games pitch by pitch but unfortunately I have to be social. I know, life is hard when your husband has 12 weeks off and you travel around seeing family and friends all summer between weeks at the beach and in the mountains. It’s rough…very rough.

Vote for Wags. I think Votto is going to run away with it, but do your part!

Good to see Matty D back on the field.
July 6th, 2010 at 9:17 pm

July 6th, 2010 at 10:39 pm
Yes, dear. Good night, Braves Country!
July 7th, 2010 at 4:36 am
Good win Bravos, lets take the series tomorrow. Going to Citi field for all the Mets/Braves games so we need some momentum.

What an inning! (the 6th that is). Diaz! McCann! The lumber company just made some promotions to the executive level. Eat it, Moyer.

I have to admit I like beating the Phils a lot these days
July 7th, 2010 at 11:29 pm
Finally got to listen to the Brooks interview. Really enjoyed it. Well done and thanks as always for your hard work.
Awesome series. One of my favorites, and it’s getting hard to keep track of the great ones. Playing with house money in NY, very nice.
July 7th, 2010 at 11:38 pm
As much as I love beating the Phillies, I have much more blood lust for the Mets. Very much looking forward to this weekend.
We’re about to post an interview with Sid Bream. It will be up in about 30 minutes.
July 8th, 2010 at 8:35 am
Listening to Bream interview now. Toss-up for me last night between seeing Toy Story 3 and taking the Phillies series. Both. So. GREAT.

“Mara” – Diaz just texted me that he & Prado want to double-date. You in??
July 8th, 2010 at 3:50 pm
Absolutely! (and, twss).
July 8th, 2010 at 6:36 pm
See, this is why boys should watch baseball and girls should talk about sewing.

Got room for one more?

“Playing with house money in NY, very nice.”. Prof. Alicious, can you please tell the sheltered pastor’s wife what that means exactly?
Steve, I concur about wanting to pummel the Mets. Beating the “phollies” is fun but oh to spank the Mets…

Yankees are disgusting. The sport might not be dead but it definitely has herpes.
July 9th, 2010 at 12:45 pm
And I thought Cliff Lee wouldn’t be a Yankee until next year… silly me.
