While we are at it, Jamie Moyer pulled his old hack last night and might be headed to the 15-day DL.

You haven’t heard anything bad about Escobar? Take a look and read Buster Olney’s column about how a team member, for his birthday, just wanted YE to play hard that day… If Alex doesn’t hit a lick, forget the clubhouse, he will be a professional ON THE FIELD, he will field his position EVERY PLAY. BIG DEAL when you don’t score a lot of runs. BIG DEAL when all the other players have one less thing on their mind (“is our shortstop going to play hard today?”, “is he going to make an error and sit on the bench and sulk?”) every game.
A quote from YE: “I was giving it my all when I was in Atlanta, so I can’t say I would have played any different,” he said.
REALLY?!?! His all??? PLEASE!!!
OBTW – The phrase is “Eat your cake and have it too”, which is an impossiblity. Most people say it incorrectly. Same with “I could care less”. It is “I couldn’t care less”. If you “could care less”, it means you do care…

“how a team member, for his birthday, just wanted YE to play hard that day” HAHAHAHAHA. Very nice, Mark!

“Mara” thanks for the new euphemism: “personal post-game report.” Niiiiice.

And to my suprize, you didn’t mention any joy at never having to see Jo-jo in a Braves uni again…
That was one of the high points of the trade for me.
As for YE in Canada… Frenchy looked pretty good after he left, at first. YE needed a change of scenery. Mostly because he had dug such a big hole for himself. I had high hopes for him with Melky on the team.
Melky had come in and shown the Latin players “how things are supposed to be done”, reminded them of the example they needed to set for the kids in the countries they are from, etc. It seemed to be working on YE at first, but when he was slumping, we saw his true character…

Check YE again the first time he hits a slump…

BUB! You have a twin! M in M…I am so with you on the whole “couldn’t care less”…drives me crazy. Isn’t it “have your cake and eat it too”?
July 21st, 2010 at 1:28 pm
M in M – welcome to the board and thank you for bringing more sanity to the YE discussion. Bub and I couldn’t do it alone. I agree with you 100%. Just like with Frenchy last year (but for different reasons) it does not matter, one bit, how YE performs in Toronto.

So, McOut is back in the lineup tonight. Let’s make our predictions about where he bats in the lineup. While he should absolutely bat 8th, I bet Bobby puts him at 7.
July 21st, 2010 at 3:18 pm
I think 8. I bet Gonzalez is 7
July 21st, 2010 at 3:46 pm
Et tu, Stevie? Don’t equate having more people on your side with bringing more sanity to the conversation. The opposite may well be true.
I say McOut goes 7 and the Gonze goes 8 b/c Garland is a rightie.
July 21st, 2010 at 3:49 pm
Curt wins the prize. McOut is 8. The Gonz is 7. I hate that Hinske is in. I know it’s a righty, but keep Diaz in there.

#62 – Steve, “that’s what she said.”
Headed to the ballpark…Go Braves!
July 21st, 2010 at 6:10 pm
Hearing John Kruk admit the Phillies suck is awesome. They do suck. They’re gonna need a lot more than Oswalt to get it together.
July 21st, 2010 at 7:55 pm
It is HOT with no breeze to speak of. In other news, McOut is certainly not hot in the outfield…let’s see what he does at bat later this inning.
July 21st, 2010 at 8:17 pm
I have come to the conclusion that this team…is really good.
July 21st, 2010 at 8:26 pm
Tommy seems to enjoy pitching more when he’s the current WP.
July 21st, 2010 at 8:28 pm
…or not…Yikes!
July 21st, 2010 at 8:33 pm
Bud Black was right to argue that. Lucky call in our favor.
July 21st, 2010 at 8:47 pm
You know your having a bad night when McOut hits a single off you. Go Braves!
July 21st, 2010 at 9:09 pm
You’re…I’ve been at a water park all day with 3 kids.
July 21st, 2010 at 10:03 pm
Uggghhhh – I just got home and logged on to the game thinking it would be great to watch the last inning. WRONG!
July 21st, 2010 at 10:05 pm
Woopsie. Really hoping for a walk off something or other. Their bullpen is sick.
July 21st, 2010 at 10:15 pm
Not happy times here @ The Ted.
July 21st, 2010 at 10:26 pm
Anne, it sounded like the crowd was giving McSucks grief about not throwing at least pretending to get the ball back in. Did I imagine/wish that?
