    Bub Selig Says:

    Amen, Nate.

    Bub Selig Says:

Mark, I was picturing Nate winning the job in Spring Training. Glad you brought up Winter Ball. The Braves organization is impressed with slumpers go to winter ball. I’ve heard of them basing a decision or two on it. If Nate slumps in Gwinnett and doesn’t go to Arizona in the winter, I think his chances of winning the job in Spring go down.

    Nate Says:

    Tonight’s Lineup
Prado, Heyward, Chipper, Mac, Hinske, Glaus, Gonzo, Cabrera, Hanson

    Steve Says:

Lots of interesting data points today. #1: FW not being scared of burying money by sending McLouth down (just like putting KK in the bullpen). #2: Somewhat less significant, but still good to see Bobby dropping Glaus to 6 tonight. Again, very un-Bobby like.

    Curt Says:

Bub, perhaps the most important factor you left off in the 2013 WS run is that there might very well be a new owner who surrounds all those guys with some veteran pieces to make that an even more impressive lineup. A man who is willing to be the face of a franchise and spend some extra dollars to close some of those gaps that Liberty Media refuses to address. We’ll leave his name Blank for now.

    Bub Selig Says:

Steve, I thought the same thing on both counts. Especially #1: between Kawakami and McLouth, we have 10+ million dollars on the bench and in Gwinnett.

And #2 carries the same message: produce on this team or risk losing your place.

I honestly think the Francoeur and Kelly Johnson outcomes have guided the Escobar, McLouth, and Kawakami decisions. Maybe old dogs can be taught new tricks after all.

    Mara Wanna Says:

Huddy just signed my kid’s ball!!!! Shaking!

  8. 58
    Bub Selig Says:

Curt, new ownership would be serious party time. Do you think the Blank possibility (great pun) is real?

  9. 59
    Bub Selig Says:

That’s awesome, Mara. Is your kid an Auburn fan, too?

  10. 60
    Mara Wanna Says:

    Diaz crushing it during BP.

  11. 61
    Mara Wanna Says:

Why is my print so tiny? Bub, the “war eagle” cry may have been part of pulling him away from the throngs and his zoning in on my adorable child. I have video. Nationals park=great view even from nose bleed seats.

  12. 62
    Mara Wanna Says:

Huh..now my print is normal again. My iPhone must be adjusting to the change in altitude.

  13. 63
    Bub Selig Says:

lol, Lemke busting out the “he shall be Livan” Elton John reference on the pregame, talking about Livan Hernandez. His play-by-play is death, but I like him on the pregame.

Now, if Mazzone would just have a… voice injury.

  14. 64
    Mara Wanna Says:

Meadow’s fraternizing with the enemy. What kinda degree to you have to have to be the person who helps players stretch?

  15. 65
    Bub Selig Says:

    A masters degree in I’ve-Never-Met-Chipper-Jones.

  16. 66
    Mara Wanna Says:

Law and Order theme song playing as Ump staff is introduced. That’s just clever.

  17. 67
    Bub Selig Says:

Strasburg SCRATCHED!!! 39 year old replacement.

DO IT BRAVES!! DO IT BIG!!!

  18. 68
    Anne Says:

#60 – “Mara” – why do you hate me.
I JUST turned on the TV – why Strasburg scratched? Wait – I’ll guess: for Nats ticket sales.

  19. 69
    Anne Says:

“Mara” you don’t really hate me, I know. Where are you sittin’ in the park?

  20. 70
    Curt Says:

So Leah, any Hooters experience and you are out

  21. 71
    Bub Selig Says:

Ridiculous run. But I’m glad the runner’s off the paths. Tommy needs a good outing today like nobody’s business.

  22. 72
    Anne Says:

Why do the fellas perform so awfully awfully when we see the Nats? There is no answer…

  23. 73
    Bub Selig Says:

So, I guess, one of these days, Tommy Hanson will dominate somebody.

  24. 74
    Bub Selig Says:

Maybe Tommy needs to pitch two innings of a simultated game before each start.

  25. 75
    Anne Says:

Bub, by “simulated,” do you mean like on his X-Box?
