Happy Birthday Anne.
Bub – the Marta shuttle is definitely running the rest of this season. Next season I’ve heard rumor that it may be funded privately – but don’t know.
Despite Glaus’ 2 RBI single, I feel a change is a comin’. Great win tonight, regardless. Hudson keeps doing it, Chipper keeps surging and Wagner was ridiculous. 2 games up feels much better than 1.

Thanks, Steve, on the Marta info.
Julio Teheran had a great night to add to Freeman’s and the Big Club. 6.0 innings, 7 k’s, a walk, 3 hits, no runs… this after his 5.2 inning (pitch count) no-hitter last time out. That’s 2 of his first 3 starts after his promotion = no runs, low walks, low hits, high K’s.

Curt, I understand the hesitation. Friday’s game was definitely every bit as disgusting as Saturday’s was great. And there’s little excuse for taking a night off at this point.
August 8th, 2010 at 1:43 am
* meaning the TEAM shouldn’t be taking nights off.
Fans have an excuse.

Whew…thought we were about to have it out. JK. Happy Birthday Anne! Go Braves! Please win today!

I love a Sunday morning when a series win is within reach. It creates a singular sense of optimism for me – different than any other day of the week.
August 8th, 2010 at 11:02 am
What was I saying about Sunday morning optimism? Here’s the lineup:
1. Infante 2B, 2.Cabrera RF, 3. Gonzalez SS, 4. Diaz LF, 5. Glaus 1B, 6. Conrad 3B, 7. Ankiel CF, 8. Ross C, 9. Lowe P. Boo.

Interesting strategy resting Heyward, Chipper, and McCann with Prado on the DL. Not many managers would elect to go into a game with no one from their everyday 1-4 in the lineup. Let’s see how this one plays out.

Halladay is pitching for the Phillies today. Great.
August 8th, 2010 at 12:47 pm
Nate, I have a theory about how this will play itself out.
August 8th, 2010 at 12:54 pm
Let’s hear it Curt. Paula Deen says hi y’all. Well, if she were at her restaurant I’m sure she would say.
August 8th, 2010 at 1:12 pm
Hello from Turner Field – thanks for the birthday wishes, but that was the surprise – my 40th isn’t until October. I have sneaky friends.
Oh, and Usher Alan update: he’s on the mend and hopefully back late month.

Lowe loves Venezuela.
August 8th, 2010 at 2:12 pm
David Ross just got all over that pitch.
August 8th, 2010 at 3:10 pm
My theory has been disproved. I love being wrong.
August 8th, 2010 at 3:29 pm
Melky spent the pitching change hangin’ out in the bullpen. Awesome.
August 8th, 2010 at 4:16 pm
Mets blow 1000 opportunities in that game. Lost 6-5
August 8th, 2010 at 4:47 pm
Huge win, people. Huge. 5 – 2 week. Coulda shoulda been 7 – 0.
August 8th, 2010 at 7:40 pm
The second half theme right there – ‘coulda shoulda’
August 8th, 2010 at 8:38 pm
New show tonight?
August 8th, 2010 at 8:41 pm
Honestly didn’t think we’d still be leading the division. Any specific thought on today’s game? Are we limping into TX?
August 8th, 2010 at 9:11 pm
Yes. New show. Around 11:30ish. Mara – I’d think the team’s feeling pretty good about themselves after a rough end of July, you’ve got to love going 5 – 2 in any week.
August 8th, 2010 at 9:13 pm
On the contrary, I think the last two games are very encouraging. To me, at least. We clearly have issues playing on the road, but the Astros are not very good. Have to believe that its a very winnable series. I’ve been all over the place with this team this week, but I actually feel pretty good right now. That will probably change in 4 days.
Nate, new show tonight.

Just watched the highlights. Wow…rough first inning but Gonzo’s sweet DP seemed to pick everybody up and put them back on track. Great game by the Braves B team! I want Brooks to play more.
