it is to laugh. Anyone else (other than Ham and I) call the Frenchy homer there?

THE DAMN METS. We have GOT to come back and win this game. This could be disastrous with those Giants pitchers coming to town.
Also, I just hate the Mets. Can’t believe I ever thought I didn’t.

I call Heyward going … skyward.
August 3rd, 2010 at 9:58 pm
He’s due
August 3rd, 2010 at 10:00 pm
Not today, necessarily, but I mean, eventually.
*takes two prozacs*
August 3rd, 2010 at 10:01 pm
2.0 game lead. Awful.
August 3rd, 2010 at 10:01 pm
Losing a game when Lowe pitches well hurts like hell.
August 3rd, 2010 at 10:08 pm
That was just an awful game. Just awful. If Bobby pulls his “tough loss” manure, I am going to fly to Atlanta and punch Curt. So many horrible moments . . . Hinske swinging at all of those pitches with the bases loaded and Dickey just walked the last two batters . . . Gonzalez trying to steal (he has ONE stolen base this season) . . . Wagner’s stupid pitch to Frenchy.
Ignominious. Maybe the worst loss of the season. So angry.
August 3rd, 2010 at 10:12 pm
And why the hell do you pinch hit Glaus? He’s a DP waiting to happen. 0-8 RISP. Just terrible. Worst of the season. We might lose this series. Pelfrey has begged us to hammer him this year and we refuse to do it. 4-6 against the hapless Mets.
August 3rd, 2010 at 10:19 pm
Oh, and Wagner blew another game.
August 3rd, 2010 at 10:51 pm
Wait…Bobby pinch hit Glaus? Good night to have a coffee date. Sucky loss. Bubdylan, you’re new found hatred of the Mets is cracking me up but I’m VERY glad to see it. Keep walking toward the light. Did Wagner struggle or just throw one very bad god awful pitch?
August 3rd, 2010 at 11:17 pm
It wasn’t a bad pitch, and Frenchy doesn’t hit it out if he sees it 1000 other times, but why even throw him a fastball. throw him breaking balls down and away and make him lay off of them.

Tell me this line up would not destroy right handed pitching:
Infante 3B
Heyward RF
Prado 2B
McCann C
Ankiel CF
Hinske LF
Gonzalez SS
Freeman 1B
And Troy Glaus is full of sh*t. He’s lying through his teeth saying his knees and feet are the same as they’ve been all year and that it’s just his timing. His limp is 5 times worse than it was. This crap about straight lying and saying you’re not injured when you are … what IS THAT? I swear I’ll never complain about Chipper benching himself with injuries again. I mean, Troy could not be any more obviously in terrible pain. The limbless knight with “only a flesh wound” comes to mind.

So glad I handed off my tickets to yesterday’s game. Let’s hope I’m crushed that I handed off my tickets to TONIGHT’s game…
August 4th, 2010 at 8:20 am
Just checked my Netflix queue. Ken Burns’ Baseball series is no longer available for shipment. Is this a sign, baseball gods??
August 4th, 2010 at 9:22 am
Bub, you might get your wish soon. Bowman and DOB were tweeting a good bit last night about the possibility of Freeman getting called up sooner, rather than later. maybe Troy finds himself on the DL and they give it a 15 day test run.
August 4th, 2010 at 10:19 am
So, I decided on significant internet silence while in NYC these last few days celebrating my wife’s. But I did check the score when we got out of Promises, Promises last night. BUT, I had no idea of the details until this morning in the cab to the airport. It really added insult to injury hearing it from a New Yorker. I think I’m most upset about pinch hitting Glaus. C’mon, Bobby. You had to put him in because he’s been so clutch?!?! Can’t wait to hear the show.
Anne, send news of Alan when you get any.

I can barely stand to look at twitter so I missed on the FF talk. I hope it happens. I did see McLouth hit another homer. I’m afraid this team has all the pieces and is going to get really close to going to the post season.
August 4th, 2010 at 12:58 pm
Oh…nicely done Steve.
August 4th, 2010 at 1:37 pm
Tonight’s lineup: Infante – 4 Heyward – 9 Chipper – 5 McCann – 2 Hinske – 3 Diaz – 7 Ankiel – 8 Gonzalez – 6 Medlen – 1
August 4th, 2010 at 1:51 pm
Finally! Can we get over A-Rod?
August 4th, 2010 at 2:04 pm
Sure we can. We got over Chipper’s latest move-up on the BB record. I mean, THAT’s something!
August 4th, 2010 at 2:27 pm
Add this to last night – Mets have the fewest come from behind wins in MLB.
August 4th, 2010 at 2:31 pm
Trouble – Pelfrey is on an 0-3, 9.59 ERA streak right now. Predictions on how many runs the Braves score off of him? I’m going with 2.
August 4th, 2010 at 2:35 pm
You know Bobby’s getting anxious when Diaz is in there against a righty. I’m gonna say 3 runs. Big night from Mr. Heyward.
