    Curt Says:

As long as they begin everything they say about A Rod with the statement “Admitted steroid user,” I’m ok with it.

    Mara Wanna Says:

Depends on how many innings they load the bases. Every time they load ’em is -1 run.

Not happy with the organization. From Kawakami’s interview with DOB:

    Q. Has Bobby Cox or any Braves official talked to you in recent weeks about your role, their plans for you or when they might try to get you in games?

    A. The only thing I heard was after I made my last start against Detroit. Maybe two days later I was told that I’m stepping down from the rotation and just being used as a reliever, maybe in long relief, or anytime a starter goes down, I’m going to be stepping in to fill that role.

    Q. So they haven’t talked to you since then about your role?

    A. No.

That’s b.s., and it’s a running theme. You guys’ interview with Javy and also the Glavine situation paints a very inept picture of our front office’s relationship with players. How can you not communicate with your athletes and keep them in the loop? I don’t understand it at all. I guess I was pretty wrong about Glavine, and might even have to give Smoltz more benefit (though certainly it would only go to a 50/50 deal with him) now that Kawakami, who shows nothing but class and hard work in spite of everything, has come out (only when asked) and admitted this is how it goes with the Braves.

Major kudos to DOB for asking that question and for hammering it home. Something needs to be written about this. Mark Bradley, maybe? He likes to get upset…

I take it John Schurholtz(sp?), after the Glavine apology, recognizes Wren’s shortcoming on this front. Maybe a he should make Frank take a class on… class.

I rolled my eyes at Ripken’s and Smoltz’ fallouts with Frank. With Glavine I raised an eyebrow. But when it’s KK, having to be prodded to say it, I’m just convinced. Wren’s not natural with people. Good skills for building a young core on limited funds, but not good with folk, as my grandmother would say.

If ONLY we knew someone who was free with his opinions and could provide valid information while gripping the reader with his witty puns. If…only…

    Here’s some good news…

RT @ajcbraves: #Braves reliever O’Flaherty, rebounding from mono, did some long-tossing today and will throw in bullpen tomorrow.

All right…no more fooling around. Let’s kick some serious Mets butt!

    Mara Wanna Says:

    Finally some offense! Thankyou!!!!!!!

  8. 108
    Mara Wanna Says:

    Dangit. Stupid Red’s pitchers.

    Nate Says:

Had to field a mom call… what happened to Meds?????????

    Mara Wanna Says:

He came off the mound funny 5h inning one out one pitch to Reyes. He was shaking his pitching arm like it didn’t feel right. Remember he was hit by a pitch during the Reds series?

    Anne Says:

I’m enjoying these gifts from the Mets…even if one of ’em is Matty D takin’ one for the team. For reals.

  12. 112
    Will Says:

mets are playing like the braves!

  13. 113
    Will Says:

hey guys, looks like Alex Rodriguez has hit 600 home runs. Wow! isnt that something

  14. 114
    Mara Wanna Says:

Pelfrey must not have been told how we hit when the bases are loaded.

  15. 115
    Will Says:

    114 = funny

  16. 116
    Mara Wanna Says:

    Good morning Will.

  17. 117
    Curt Says:

Props to Diane Sawyer who, when for some reason she was forced to report that A Roid hit his 600th homer on the nightly news, pointed out that he was an “admitted steroid user.”

Still no hits with the bases loaded. Apparently Ankiel got the note about the Braves and the bases loaded.

  18. 118
    Mara Wanna Says:

    KK…will you forgive us?

  19. 119
    Curt Says:

    Phils picked up Mike Sweeney

  20. 120
    Mara Wanna Says:

Smoltz agrees with me. We’re blaming Red’s pitching staff.

  21. 121
    Mara Wanna Says:

Curt, they HAD to. Their star first baseman is hurt so ya know…gotta go get a filler!

  22. 122
    Bub Says:

I’ve figured it out. Braves have changed their strategy from hoping the KK acquisition opens the door for other Japanese players to hoping it closes it forever.

  23. 123
    Mara Wanna Says:

It’s a good thing we’re not having to go deep in our bullpen with the Giants coming to town.

  24. 124
    Bub Says:

Brilliant doubleswitch, Bobby. Take the bat away from Diaz after the Mets finally go to a lefty.

  25. 125
    Bub Says:

    Nevermind. I misread the line-up. Diaz doesn’t bat again for a while…
