If the MRI is bad and Medlen needs TJ surgery who replaces him KK or Minor?
August 4th, 2010 at 9:14 pm
Am I the only one who believes Jason Heyward’s no better than 75% with that thumb?
August 4th, 2010 at 9:15 pm
The Mets like the Braves with bases loaded so much, they’re erroring them on just to get out of the inning.
August 4th, 2010 at 9:16 pm
Crap…bases loaded.
August 4th, 2010 at 9:16 pm
hah…#128.
August 4th, 2010 at 9:17 pm
Kate, I gotta think Mike Minor. Mark Bowman thinks so, too. I guess we’ll know soon.
August 4th, 2010 at 9:18 pm
If Chipper hits into a DP right here, I will absolutely… absolutely… be glad we’re still winning.
Sigh, the Braves have broken me.
August 4th, 2010 at 9:19 pm
Laughing my ass off.
August 4th, 2010 at 9:23 pm
We managed to go 0 for 4 with runners in scoring postion… in one inning … and score two runs. The Braves strategy finally paying off…
August 4th, 2010 at 9:23 pm
Wow…anyway we can hope for a similar inning from the Giants tomorrow night?
August 4th, 2010 at 9:23 pm
All it takes is a few errors for us to score.
August 4th, 2010 at 9:25 pm
Bub, right on about KK. I read DOBs article and it’s pretty disgraceful. I have huge respect for him after I read it and the selflessness he expressed. It’s a shame what they have done to him. And I’ll bet the used him to recruit Saito.
August 4th, 2010 at 9:34 pm
Why do I feel like this game is far from over? Seems precarious.
August 4th, 2010 at 9:39 pm
…cause it worked so well last night.
August 4th, 2010 at 9:40 pm
Lead off walk is fantastic cause he’s such a fast runner. But, we’re winning!
August 4th, 2010 at 9:41 pm
Please tell me someone else heard Smoltz just now commenting on A-Rod’s 600th. Something to do with, “when you reach a round number” but I began laughing too hard to hear the word “number” at the end. It must be past my bedtime.
August 4th, 2010 at 9:58 pm
I think Melky’s about to get hot.
August 4th, 2010 at 10:14 pm
awe…look at Martin so funny and cute. Ok game. Hope the offense continues to find a way make something happen.
August 4th, 2010 at 10:23 pm
Unfortunately I think the Mets lost this game 10X more than we won it. The laughable decision to leave Pelf in to face McCann a 3rd time with the lefty already warmed up, the Mets defense falling to pieces.
Still, nice to win a series.
Promote Minor and Freeman! Get it done!
Raise your hand if you’d take a 2-2 series against the Giants right now.
August 4th, 2010 at 10:28 pm
I’d definitely be pleased to split the series. I’d also be ok tied for first after Sunday. Kinda feels like the wheels are coming off, especially if Meds needs surgery.
August 4th, 2010 at 10:58 pm
Turns out Wes Helms only gets big hits against us.
August 4th, 2010 at 11:12 pm
Turns out the Marlins only really try against us.
August 5th, 2010 at 1:43 am
Good grief, I can only imagine being in KK’s shoes, reading this comment from Bobby:
**Can Kawakami replace Medlen next start if needed?
“I don’t know right now. He hasn’t pitched in so long.”
First, that’s obviously media-speak for “oh, HELL no, not that guy…” but moreover, they pull the guy out of the rotation, never use him in the pen, don’t talk to him about it at all, and then when asked if he can pitch, say “gee I dunno, he hasn’t pitched in so long…”
A lot of my enjoyment of the Braves comes from the idea of rooting for a class organization building on a medium budget, etc, that whole story. Means as much to me as winning (I know, I’m alone…), so this is equal to a nine game losing streak for me.
Curt, Steve, All, question for you: do you think Derek Lowe will be the last big contract for this club under Liberty? Are they in full fledged scale-back mode?
I can’t think of anything more frustrating than to find that to be the case. To graduate this incredible group of youngsters and not add the pieces to them that would make them truly powerful. You don’t get Heyward/Hanson/Freeman/Jurrjens/Venters/Prado/Minor/Teheran/McCann landing in your back yard for dirt cheap more than once every twenty years, hell this crop may be unprecedented outside of Tampa. If they don’t do something with this, what a shame that would be.

late night insomnia post.
I need a new hobby.

Goodness Professor. Didn’t you say the muscles in your right pinky toe were all a spasm? I think you might need a muscle relaxer tonight.
