My dad still has flying monkey nightmares.
August 12th, 2010 at 8:37 am
I’m hoping the Dodgers win tonight in the 15th inning.

Sorry, Bub. I am more of a “talkie” than a “writie” but I will try to do better. Anyone heard news on the biggest MRI since JJ’s?
August 12th, 2010 at 11:00 am
Torn ACL. Out for the year. Dimino just spoke with Chipper and reported it.
August 12th, 2010 at 11:42 am
Wow – should be an interesting few days here. Let the speculation begin . . . we gotta make a move now, don’t we?
August 12th, 2010 at 11:54 am
.Will they call up FF?
August 12th, 2010 at 11:56 am
Who’s out there? And who would clear waivers to get to the braves? The phils could block every move if they wanted
August 12th, 2010 at 12:12 pm
I don’t know that the Chipper news should have any affect on calling up Freeman. There is no way they are moving Glaus to 3rd.
Really bummed about Chipper. Crappy way to potentially end his career.
August 12th, 2010 at 12:24 pm
Steve, you’re probably right on Freeman. My guess is that Infante will stay at 2nd and Prado will move to 3rd when he’s back. Diory will have to stay on the team to be a back up infielder, but who do you call up to replace Chipper?
August 12th, 2010 at 12:27 pm
Agreed with all above re Chipper – that ain’t a good way to go out. When you guys say “replace Chipper,” do you mean Brooks Conrad (who could replace Chipper @ 3rd)? …or could it not work that way?
August 12th, 2010 at 12:31 pm
I meant his roster spot. I guess it could be Diory when Prado gets back, but it will be interesting to see what the Braves do in the meantime. I’m sure Conrad will continue to play 3rd until Prado is back. After that, I don’t know. Hard to justify putting Omar back on the bench with the way he’s hitting…

“Mara” – I’ve been meaning to say this and I’ll forget before the weekend: fingers crossed that Alan will be back – you’ll see him before I will, because I’ve handed away all of my weekend tickets. We’re trading states. You’ll be in GA and I’ll be in NC. PLEASE say hello for me and tell him I’ll see him Monday!
Oh, and Curt & Steve will be jealous to know that Ballpark Frank will be taking my day game tickets next Thursday.
August 12th, 2010 at 12:45 pm
Damn you Frank

Ok Anne. I’ll give him a big ole hug for ya. I really hate this for Chipper. Terrible way to potentially end a career. He was hitting great, really hitting his stride. That being said, I wonder when the last time was for Chipper to play 7 weeks without some unexplained/nagging injury. I guess what I mean to say is, while I hate that Chipper is hurt and out for the season was it realistic to expect him to continue playing so well? If we DO get somebody (and I don’t know who it’d be) or call up FF that seems better than Bobby continuing to play chipper with some tiny hinderance that goes unaddressed. Maybe I’m just attempting to find some silver lining.

Nate – I agree that Diory takes Chipper’s spot. Prado to 3rd and Infante to 2nd, I’d guess.
August 12th, 2010 at 1:58 pm
I really hope Chipper rehabs and retires on his own terms. I know that’s asking a lot out of him, but I really, really hope he does it.
August 12th, 2010 at 2:43 pm
Oh, Nate, you’re HILARIOUS!!
August 12th, 2010 at 3:01 pm
Is Vinny Castilla still available?
August 12th, 2010 at 3:14 pm
*yaaaawn*
S’up, peeps?
Glad to see we’ve all been Wiz’d at Google. Yeah, Mara, I’m either one with the universe or, like I told my mom when I was 7, doesn’t the universe just follow me around?
Chipper frownie face.
Guess I’ll go read the news.

“Let the speculation begin . . . we gotta make a move now, don’t we?”
I don’t think they feel they have to. Still have Infante and Conrad on the depth chart, so it isn’t desperate.
They’re talking about Chipper on Dodger radio right now. Lot’s of nice things. It’s hard for us to appreciate how much others think of him as a permanent fixture in the sport, and how weird it is for them to think of facing the Braves without seeing him.

#270 Bub, you haven’t noticed a change in your incisors or had a strange aversion to garlic lately have you?
August 12th, 2010 at 9:45 pm
8-2 Dodgers, top of the 8th
August 12th, 2010 at 9:52 pm
Ole Fat Joe getting rocked again.
August 12th, 2010 at 9:57 pm
I am really glad we don’t have to face Kershaw this series.
