I’ll have faith until we hear otherwise. they are saying tomorrow now for the MRI. glad he has a reference point from which to speak. And from personal experience, I sprained my ACL in a similar fashion (I fell down drunk at a bar) and it certainly made an audible popping sound. So it can make a sound and not be torn. I’ll keep my fingers crossed. Just seems like the Braves are not catching any breaks right now on the injury front.

I saw the time for us to make our move on Philly on the respective schedules just now. Philly owes a couple of make up games, turning their August 17th – September 8th stretch into a 24 games in 23 days guantlet. In the middle of it, while we’re hosting the Marlins and Mets, they’ll be visiting San Diego, the Dodgers, and a make up game with Colorado.

    That’s when we strike.

hahaha at Curt falling down drunk. I cracked my head in similar mode. What did you in? Vodka shots for me; my first ones ever.

    Bub Says:

That’s not a typo, by the way: 24 games in 23 days – a doubleheader with Florida and a Rockies game wedged into where they had one skinny off day.

Curt, 201, made me have to clean coffee off of my floor do to spitting it during laughter. Nicely done. I’m kind of optimistic for a sprain. I remember watching a game on tv years ago where the Braves were playing the Expos in Montreal, and Brian Jordan slipped over first base trying to beat out a grounder and his knee bent backwards and made a V shape. It was pretty disgusting to watch. He came out of the game and many thought that was it for the year for Brian. It turned out to be a sprain and he was back days later. Granted, Chipper is nowhere near as agile and flexible as BJ, but I’ll remain optimistic. If his career ends on that play I will be very very sad for him.

    Nate Says:

Can we hire Chipper’s dad as our hitting coach?

Finally got to listen to the show partially due to time allowed after running out of gas on I 95N yesterday. The Officer who assisted me was very nice and only laughed a little which I appreciated. Anywho, i hate to bring KK up but I must have my say. If he spoke honestly with DOB then the club served him very ill indeed. However none of us really know how it was handled and the guy can’t even speak English so who knows what was misinterpreted or misunderstood. Either way, I don’t care how badly a guy is playing the bad stewardship of letting him sit and stiffen sickens me. He’s on the freaking roster…at least keep him ready to carry water or something. Maybe some of the fault should also be on KK. Take Martin Prado…on the DL but is more excited than anybody when Infante gets a leadoff hit. He keeps life in the dugout. Yes, I’m his biggest fan. Yes, seeing him bump his fists together before each at bat sends chills up my spine. I also think the success of a player has a lot to do with his attitude. Maybe I’m speaking out of both sides of my mouth but that just proves how very talented I am.

#209 – agreed, Bub. I don’t read a lot of sports articles, I’ll admit, but: is it typical that a player’s agent has so much to say in an article about their client? I bet SHE’s fun at a cocktail party…

    Nate Says:

Does Frenchy have an incentive claus on how many times he strikes out or grounds out? His moaning for more playing time against righties makes no sense. I agree with Bub, Frenchy’s an ass. Benching him is one of the better move Manuel has ever made as a manager. It cracks me up that his agent uses “we” when talking about needed plate appearances. I guess she’s going to spoon Frenchy in the box while he strikes out.

    Curt Says:

The Royals are on line 2………

  14. 214
    Nate Says:

Good news from DOB on the injured Braves.

  15. 215
    Nate Says:

Hanson showing the other hitters how it’s done with a 2 out RBI single.

  16. 216
    Bub Says:

Ross calls a ton more breaking stuff from Tommy than McCann. Adding that to Ross’s superior defense (with Tommy’s please-steal-a-base delivery) and I think they should consider making it a full time deal.

I doubt they’ll do it, though. Hanson faced a lefty last time out and they batted McCann, so…

  17. 217
    Nate Says:

Bub, excellent point. He is mixing his pitches really well.

    Mara Says:

Anybody else think Rodriguez has an enormous melon head?

  19. 219
    Curt Says:

19 errors in the last 12 games? 7 in the last 3? yikes

  20. 220
    Bub Says:

Hey, Bob. You wanna give Venters a breather?

  21. 221
    Bob Says:

    Nope.

  22. 222
    Mara Says:

Really coulda used an insurance run or two.

  23. 223
    Bub Says:

    Our starting pitching is outrageous.

  24. 224
    Curt Says:

    Not so much our closer

  25. 225
    Mara Says:

Oh he’s our close he’s just our very very tired, overused closer.
