Don’t sell yourself short Curt…I specifically remember you being a 5 at one point last year. Great show. It is sad about Chipper. During one of the videos in between innings there was a clip of Chipper and the crowd went crazy. Everybody loves him. Prado is NOT an if. He’s gonna come back and be spectacular again. Y’all have fun tonight!

I think you guys said this last year, its the hope meter, not the reality meter….

    my hopemeter goes to 11.

    Steve Says:

It’s our hope about the reality. Don’t make me come over there …

Good show guys. My meter is at about a 6 right now, too. I think the Braves still have a much better staff and bullpen than Philly, but at some point we have to start scoring runs consistently to have any shot. The remaining road games are very worrisome. If we can go over .500 against the Mets, Marlins, and Nats, then we probably make it. Regardless of schedule, if we continue to only get 1,2, and 3 runs a game, then we’re probably only going to go about .500 the rest of the way and miss the playoffs. I’m optimistic because I think having Prado, Infante, Heyward, and Mac in the top of the order can produce enough offense to get us there.

I’m about a 9 when we win and about a 0 when we lose. So maybe that means I’m a 4.5? I’m not good at Math.

Nice article. Especially for those of you who can remember what all those words mean.

    Curt Says:

Chase Utley back and starting for the Phils tomorrow.

Interesting interviews with Frank Wren and Chipper on 790 this morning. I’m sure they will post them on their site at some point.

Curt – I heard the FW interview this morning. What did you make about him saying that Freeman is eligible to be on the post season roster as of now? Something about you can replace a player on the DL with him? It makes no sense to me. I thought that a player had to be on the 25 man roster by Aug 31 to be on the post season squad. Anyone have any idea? He’s not even on the 40 man roster as of today.

Also – What headlines did you take away from the Chipper interview?

    Nate Says:

You know your offense is struggling when a local sports writer (Schultz) mentions Manny Ramirez as a viable option. Considering the reasons behind Esky’s move to Canada, the Manny idea is almost as crazy as the Chone Figgins idea. Alos, would anyone be opposed to Infante as an everyday player ( the rest of this year and next)? I look at him like I did Prado before Prado started. Yeah, our bench is better when he is coming off it (if Bobby remembers he’s there), but the line up is so much better when he’s in it. Which is more important? Yeah he only hits a lot of singles, but don’t you want a guy who gets on base a ton at the top of the order? To me, Prado and him look like a great 1 and 2 in the order for this year and beyond.

    Steve Says:

Nate – I totally agree with you on Infante. I feel that he’s jumped into that Prado territory where he’s proven himself as an every day player.

No news from the Chipper injury, except that he would consider moving to first base next year. Which, virtually, makes no sense seeing as how we don’t have a third baseman and we have a first baseman.

He also said that he doesn’t think he can be a pinch hitter if the team asked him.

    Anne Says:

Have I said it before, here: Jones as batting coach?? Too soon??

    Kate Says:

    Braves lineup: 1. Infante 2B, 2. Heyward RF, 3. Gonzalez SS, 4. McCann C, 5. Glaus 1B, 6. Conrad 3B, 7. Ankiel CF, 8. Cabrera LF, 9. Hanson P

  17. 17
    Nate Says:

K-Rod is out for the season with a thumb ligament injury. Wow. Mets. Wow. How much does that guy make?

  18. 18
    Anne Says:

End of the 2nd…the moment Bub Dylan becomes reality. Go Braves and Go ABT at The Ted!!

  19. 19
    Anne Says:

…and it ends like so many of my blind dates. They see my Diaz shirt and make themselves scarce. Next time, Bub…next tiiiiiime.

  20. 20
    Curt Says:

lost the softball game. Hopefully the braves fair better.

  21. 21
    Mara Wanna Says:

Anne…are you saying Bubalicious stood you up? I will have to have a word with that “young” man. Maybe his crew wasn’t able to weather the rain.

  22. 22
    Mara Wanna Says:

Oh wait…he’s still there. Just saw him in the RF seats. Shirt off, red shorts.

  23. 23
    Anne Says:

No, no – he and Steve met up – apparently math is hard – I didn’t find them where I thought they’d be.

  24. 24
    Anne Says:

    Brooks, Brooks, Brooks…

    Anne Says:

Venters needs to get the backpack back from Minor. His balance is off.
