August 18th, 2010 at 9:32 pm
Nicely done Wags. Now for the walk off.
August 18th, 2010 at 9:32 pm

August 18th, 2010 at 9:48 pm
Huddy should have stayed in the game and homered if he wanted to win this game.
August 18th, 2010 at 9:50 pm
Wooooooohooooooooo.
August 18th, 2010 at 9:50 pm

August 18th, 2010 at 10:01 pm
Let’s not forget Venters and Wagner’s dominant contributions tonight. What a freaking pitching staff/ bullpen.
August 18th, 2010 at 10:18 pm
Now if Bobby will give Venters a day off
August 18th, 2010 at 10:27 pm
He will. EOF due back tomorrow I think.
August 18th, 2010 at 11:05 pm
Curt – I heard that Chipper/TP moment as well. Pretty damn riveting, I thought.
Great write up of the Lee deal today over at Capitol Avenue Club (which everyone should frequent, by the way). http://capitolavenueclub.com/?p=3004

And yes, hell of a game. And I’m very happy for Heyward. Nice to get that hit after scuffling so badly.
So, I officially have all my faith back in the team about pulling out wins. I’d lost it for about two weeks, but I’m all in again.

The second half is just now beginning to feel magical like the first half did. Now that everything’s settling in my fickle head, I think the Lee move is potentially a juggernaut for reasons three:
1. The obvious stuff: Glaus down, Lee in.
2. Subtracted Lee from the Cubs so we don’t have to face him in his hot streak.
3. The Braves are going on the road. The bad road trips have got to be in their heads by now. If we can catch a no-Lilly, no-Lee Cubs team feeling a little down and just blow them up in either a sweep or a dominant 2/3 series win featuring some offense, it might be just the thing to get them over the road hurdle mentally.
And so much of baseball is mental. C’mon, Braves. Knock this road trip out of the park. 4-2 or 5-1. Do it up. The Phils are into their 24-games-in-23-days stretch. If we can pressure them now… they might give just a little.
What a great season.

Working is good and all…keeps me in the manner to which I’m accustomed. However, I am SO JEALOUS that Ballpark Frank has my tickets today. Use ‘em well, Frank! GO BRAVES!!!
August 19th, 2010 at 9:56 am
Sorry Anne. You’re so generous with your tickets. I thank you as I’m sure does Frank. Now, gotta get my chores done!
August 19th, 2010 at 10:02 am
Just caught last night’s highlights. I like Huddy with hair and I just love this team. I hope JHey gains some confidence and some days off.
August 19th, 2010 at 10:24 am
Today’s lineup (1:05 start): Infante 4 Heyward 9 Prado 5 Diaz 7 McCann 2 Gonzalez 6 Cabrera 8 Hinske 3 Lowe 1
August 19th, 2010 at 10:27 am
I wanna sweep!
August 19th, 2010 at 10:47 am
’bout time we swept the godawful Nats! Today’s the day.
August 19th, 2010 at 11:32 am
If i werent supersticious i would comment on how much more likely it would seem for us to sweep the Nats than the Phills to sweep the Giants. Plus the boys owe Lowe after his last start.
August 19th, 2010 at 1:17 pm
Hinske versus a lefty starter? Ouch. Derrek Lee scared of air planes?
