Nothing kills you more than late inning unearned runs. The theme of our second half so far.
August 16th, 2010 at 9:44 pm
Oh, and not getting hits with RISP.
August 16th, 2010 at 9:51 pm

Hey all. Just got back from the game. Yes – I met Bub in person. Really cool to meet him and chat. Hi Bub – sorry to talk about you like you’re not here. And yes, Mara – Bub took a picture of he and I. And our plan to avoid Anne worked like a charm.
What a freaking game. The place was elated after Omar’s triple and subsequent tying run. And then in the absolute depths after the error in the 8th. I credit Melky not only with the winning hit (obviously) but his throw in the 8th turned the stadium around. We were sitting in the seats in left field (outside the 755 Club). In other words, directly behind Melky. The throw was an absolute thing of beauty from that angle. An absolute straight shot. Incredible.
So, were some of the calls in the bottom of the 9th questionable in our favor?
August 16th, 2010 at 11:48 pm
I have Alan (my usher) back…I don’t need you fools. Go Braves!!!
August 16th, 2010 at 11:54 pm
Anne – is Alan totally over his health issue?
August 16th, 2010 at 11:56 pm
JJ – Great to hear from you. I look forward to hearing that whole Chipper interview. It’s just weird him bringing up 1st base. But it also speaks to, for lack of a better word, a desperation I’m guessing he must be feeling to get back out there one more time. Because he has vehemently rejected the calls for him to move to 1st the past few years.

I curious as to how confident Steve, Curt and Hammy are in the Braves chances of reaching the post season.
Thoughts?
August 17th, 2010 at 12:53 am
The reason I ask is because the file won’t play, and the pop is blocked. It’s weird.
August 17th, 2010 at 3:08 am
Finally home. Great to meet you, Steve.
Anne, you hurt me right. here.
WHAT A BALLGAME!!!! My first at the Ted, so there’s that shameful secret out of the way. But what a way to begin, huh?
Thanks, Melk Man.
GO BRAVES!!!

Steve, Chipper simply responded to a question as to whether he would consider moving to 1st should he not be able to play 3rd anymore. He said he would consider it, but he went to great length to point out that he has no interest in blocking Freddie Freeman from coming up. He talked about how tough it was goung to be to watch, but that after this initial road trip, he would travel with the team for the rest of the season. He seemed like a guy who genuinely didn’t know what he was going to do, but who certainly was disappointed with what had happened.

So, Melky is probably our second best outfielder behind Jason, do you think Bobby will start playing him even more in CF and only start Ankiel against righties? Also, Prado batted 3rd for the G-Braves, do you think that’s where he bats when he gets back? He played some third last night, too.

I was checking out our minor league affiliates, and I noticed that our most recent signee from Cuba, Yasser Gomez, is at AA Mississippi and has hit safely in 9 of his last 10 games. His last 4 have been multi-hit games. He is batting .350. Not too shabby. Jordan Schafer is currently hitting .183 for the same team.
