It’s a happy day, and I don’t want to cloud it up, but how does the Atlanta media just let it go now that it’s been confirmed that this is exactly what happened:

    1. Glaus’s knees got too bad to play.
    2. He said they were not too bad to play.
    3. Proceeds to stink it up for a month, obviously hurt.
    4. Goes to the DL

HELLO?? Tired of being lied to as a fan. Don’t lie to the team (and the fans) about your thumbs, eyeballs, and knees any more. It hurts the team. Playing below replacement level when you should be on the DL is bull.

Okay, I’m done with that issue until Heyward goes on the DL in three weeks after dribbling a hundred more grounders.

I’m teaching myself to keep score. Thought you should know just in case I seem subdued or distracted. Oh Huddy…stop being so dramatic. Just get some outs already! Just kidding! Awesome start! Wonder if Huddy took Marta to The Ted?

    Bubdylan Says:

    Blah.

    Bubdylan Says:

    Shake it off, Timmy.

His pitches look great on gameday. Like they’re getting some lucky swings. Of course movement doesn’t show on the graphic, so I can’t say if his pitches are as lively as usual. But that sequence to Dunn, for example, looked masterful on location.

    Nate Says:

Kind of amusing that while all of that was going on Powell and Sutton were gabbing about how great Hudson is. Hudson is great, but there is a time and place for every conversation.

    Bubdylan Says:

Rest the right fielder with the bad thumb, please.

    Thank you.

  7. 207
    Mara Wanna Says:

Nate, I thought the same thing. SHUT UP!!!!!

  8. 208
    Mara Wanna Says:

Not you Nate…ya know what I mean.

  9. 209
    Nate Says:

    I gotcha.

  10. 210
    Curt Says:

Stupid Nationals. You who don’t get TV are missing Chipper dog out TP for his handling of Heyward. He tried to cover himself, but that should play for some interesting conversations.

  11. 211
    Mara Wanna Says:

When Lee get to…well, Chicago, can Heyward rest and put Hinske or Cabrera or Diaz in RF?

  12. 212
    Nate Says:

Rollins just hit a 3-run homer. 5-1 Phils.

  13. 213
    Mara Wanna Says:

Hate the Phils. New ballgame Huddy! Anybody know how I score Mac’s crossing homeplate? Melky doesn’t get the RBI due to the DP so do I still put a 6 with a circle in the bottome left corner? Does anybody know what I’m talking about?

  14. 214
    Mara Wanna Says:

    I mean Prado’s crossing the plate. Whew…exhausting.

  15. 215
    Nate Says:

Come on offense. Come on Giants.

  16. 216
    Curt Says:

Giants got 1 back but then hit into a DP to end the inning

  17. 217
    Mara Wanna Says:

    double poop

  18. 218
    Bubdylan Says:

Bases loaded, no outs + bases loaded 1 out = 2 runs on a double play and a pop up lost in the sky.

  19. 219
    Bubdylan Says:

For what it’s worth, August for the SS trade:

    …………….. RBI … BB … XBH … H
    Gonzalez … 12 … 4 …… 5 …… 15
    Escobar ….. 2 ….. 5 …… 3 …… 14

  20. 220
    Nate Says:

Pretty sweet offense, huh. Meanwhile, the Phillies are in a stretch where they are getting clutch hit after clutch hit.

  21. 221
    Bubdylan Says:

    Jonny Venters is a BEAST.

And his carve-job gets Zimmerman out of the game, too. :)

  22. 222
    Bubdylan Says:

“the Phillies are in a stretch where they are getting clutch hit after clutch hit”

Nate, I was on the Phils mlb board yesterday and they were cursing the Braves for their ability to get clutch hits “every damn time.” They’re just as tired of the Braves being hot as we are of them.

  23. 223
    Nate Says:

August 1st was also the beginning of Gonzo’s lethal error stretch. Hard to make an argument that he’s played better between the two. Both have been pretty mediocre. You also have to remember that Escobar’s seeing a lot of pitchers for the first time. Gonzo played in the NL for a long time.

  24. 224
    Bubdylan Says:

I would not make the argument that Gonz has played better, no.

  25. 225
    Nate Says:

I wrote that about the Phils’ clutch hitting mostly because I’m watching their game and listening to ours, and they’ve scored at least 5 runs with 2 outs tonight.
