That was just awful, Derrek Lee. Just awful. How depressing that at-bat was.
September 7th, 2010 at 8:34 pm
Yeah, what pitch was he looking for in that AB? He took 2 very hittable fastballs (pretty much right down the middle) to get into that 0-2 hole.
September 7th, 2010 at 8:40 pm
4-3 Phils.
September 7th, 2010 at 8:44 pm
Ankiel now 0-8 w/ 8K’s on this road trip. I don’t know if a pitcher could pull that off in 8 AB’s. Oh wait…
September 7th, 2010 at 8:55 pm
3 runs. I’m stunned. The team doesn’t look capable of anything right now. Depressing.
September 7th, 2010 at 8:57 pm
My playoff hope meter broke.
September 7th, 2010 at 9:03 pm
Are the struggling Braves losing confidence yet?
September 7th, 2010 at 9:10 pm
I smell 2nd place
September 7th, 2010 at 10:06 pm
Any chance the Bravos get to play the 9th?
September 7th, 2010 at 10:13 pm
Mara – unfortunately, yes.
September 7th, 2010 at 10:15 pm
I hate baseball. Losing is NOT fun.
September 7th, 2010 at 10:21 pm
Second place.
September 7th, 2010 at 10:26 pm
Hope Meter = 2. There is no way I’m buying post season tickets right now. The Pirates!!!?????!!! Disgusted.
September 7th, 2010 at 10:32 pm
Yeah, losing a series to the first team in the NL to officially be eliminated from the playoffs is pretty bad. The Pirates starters were like 25-76 before this series.
September 7th, 2010 at 10:45 pm
They both have had ERAs over 5.25. The guy yesterday has spent the season in AAA and only started when another guy got hurt. Andrew Miller, the FL starter on Friday, had a +5 ERA in AA this season. Only got called up because he is former high round draft choice and is making a ton of money. it’s embarrassing. a world class choke job. and if the braves don’t have homefield throughout the playoffs, forget it.
September 7th, 2010 at 10:56 pm
It feels like the end of the season. I’m sitting here trying to feel better by thinking what a fun season it’s been. It’s like there is no wild card. There aren’t 4 weeks left to play ball. Road trip of sucktitude.
September 7th, 2010 at 11:44 pm
Holy crap. I’ve never been so happy to be otherwise occupied. I think I hate the Braves right now. Pittsburgh Pirates. A team that was illiminated in August.
September 8th, 2010 at 12:01 am
illiminated?
Got your English major right here, yo. 8)

The mind is a terrible thing to waste on following the Braves
September 8th, 2010 at 12:35 am
Ugh. I fastforwarded (sorry, must go to bed) to Jason’s interview. It’s a really beautiful feeling to follow falling into 2nd place by hearing your future star make an ass of himself. Being defensive about the thumb is beyond stupid.
A sh*t week to be a Braves fan.

this is how I feel.

Did anybody say anything brilliant after the game to DOB? I don’t have the heart to look. It’s called avoidance behavior.
September 8th, 2010 at 9:03 am
when you look through our lineup it doesn’t look like we should be completely awful offensively like we are, idk what it is except that we leave runners on base every chance we get thats how it was at the pittsburg game I went to the other night anyways.
whats the deal, anyone??
September 8th, 2010 at 11:25 am
1st, left and center are total black holes right now. And we’re getting no timely hitting from anyone else. The timely hits covered up those holes for weeks and weeks but without that, the team can’t score.
I rescind what I said on the show Sunday about Derrek Lee. That at-bat last night with the bases loaded killed all my optimism about him. It’s time to give Freddie a try. At least for a while. See if he can hit, see if he can hit lefties. Something’s got to change. And yes, I’m being totally reactionary.

Heyward has to be the worst interview on the team. He only sticks to the script (except when he’s explaining to his fans that the condition of his hand in September is irelevant) – having fun, team wins blah blah blah.
Chip Caray is a certified jinx. The man has to go! Not 2 minutes after he praised Huddy for blanking the Pirates we were down 3 runs. I don’t recall what game it was this year but Glavine got on him about jinxing the club. Personally, I’d rather have Fred Hickman.
