Did I just hear Chuck Dowdle correctly…the last Mets “balk-off” pitcher was…Roger MacDowell?? Tee hee.

Happy b-day Hot Ham

I wonder if Chipper will use his bully pulpit to call out Heyward for not running out that ball tonight that might have plated another run? Probably not because afterall 80% of Heyward [which is exactly what he gave jogging down to first] is…
At least Brian Jordan did: That’s something you learn in the Minor Leagues.
That pisses me off to no end and that’s not Braves baseball — I hope Fredi said something to him after he got back to the dugout or at least stared him down.

#74 “Medlen- Probably more of a bullpen guy.” Why? I totally disagree. His numbers were not mind-blowing last year, but watching him game to game I absolutely want him on the starting staff next year.
I’m officially losing faith again about the offense. I know Chipper’s out and Prado’s out, but I’ve been worn down by this week.
I thought Delgado looked pretty damn good tonight. Better than Teheran at this point.

#77 – I was impressed with both Jordan and Simpson for not pulling punches about Heyward not busting it up the line. A very honest moment about Heyward who is usually treated with kid gloves.

Yeah, I’ll tell ya something about Brian Jordan — say what you will about his lacking verbal skills but I love listening to him, especailly when he’s behind the mic at the GWT games where he really lays it out for folks to think about. He really tells it like it is.
When BJ called out Chipper last year, the man was probably right. Jordan was an NHL football player and knows a thing or two about conditioning, playing hurt, being injured, and knowing the difference of each. So I really think BJ knew what he was talking about last year — even though he had to call Chipper up and smooth things over a bit.

Oops, have hockey on the brain tonight — Brian Jordan was of course in the NFL not the NHL.

“When BJ called out Chipper last year, the man was probably right. ”
I agree with this all the way.

I didn’t really expect them to win but it was sad anyway. I missed Anne…also sad ( stupid smart phone blockers). Hamilton’s on my fantasy team so they obviously had a pretty good night. Final thought: Matthew Kaminski has become one of my favorite parts of The Ted.

Amazing how our wins seem to come in the tooth and nail, have the chips fall our way, type of fashion, while the losses are just ass kickings. Not a trend I am fond of. And way to totally give back the 6-1 week.

This quote from Fredi about Heyward does not fill me with confidence that he had to hear about it in the manner he perhaps should have:
“It’s one of those things. You live and learn.”
And reports about the demise of Uggla have been officially confirmed.

And another thing…we have the 3rd best record in baseball. One of the most important rally killers last night was the #1 espn play of the day.
Just licking my wounds.

Out of Meds, Beachy, Minor, Teheran, and Delgado, I think Meds and Beachy are obviously best suited for the rotation next year. Julio and Randall look like they could use some more seasoning. Minor has impressed me the least. Steve’s right about Meds last year. The Braves were 13-1 when he started. That’s insane. He’s the anti-KK.
If you trade Lowe the rotation goes from a huge strength to a huge question mark, imo. It sounds to me like Meds is best suited for the pen this year because it will be easier for him to come back quicker. I’m all for him in the rotation next year.
P.S. never even mentioned Vizcaino. Our pitching depth is stupid.

Chris Dimino had a tweet this morning that summed up how I’m feeling right now: seems like we went from 2.5 to 6 games back overnight.

Bad to worse.

We look like crap right now.

#91 – Big yes. 4 hits today. And Matt Hairston is no great pitcher.
June 19th, 2011 at 12:27 am
I’m about to watch Bruce Lee’s “Enter the Dragon” for the first time ever.
June 19th, 2011 at 12:28 am
Anybody following this Rory story? Heh, Rory Story. I wonder if ESPN will dare use “Rory Glory Story” if he wins big…
June 19th, 2011 at 1:30 pm
#93 -Nice! “Return of the Dragon” is even better (Bruce Lee vs. Chuck Norris = Epic)
June 19th, 2011 at 1:31 pm
Time for JJ to turn this slump around. Its time for a new week isn’t it?
June 19th, 2011 at 3:41 pm
Steve…new show tonight?
June 19th, 2011 at 3:42 pm

Thanks, Leah. And Happy Father’s Day to the Rev.
A win! I really forgot what it felt like.
