Saw an interesting description of the Braves:
Their “swing first, ask questions later” lineup has yielded a ton of homers and strikeouts but not much in between.

@203
Along with a “FINALLY!” escaping my lips…
July 24th, 2011 at 10:16 am
@226, that definitely seemed to be the approach the guys were using yesterday.
July 24th, 2011 at 12:44 pm
226, Mark, right on!
A good example: Last Wednesday, Nicasio (Rockies) threw 53 pitches in first two innings. Instead of working the counts and getting to Rockies bullpen early, the Braves started swinging like crazy. Nicasio got 7 innings in and rockies got the win.

Thank God for the wild card. We are going to need it this year guys. The Phillies and the Red Sox are extremely, extremely good teams. They are even better than I thought they were going to be. They never lose.
July 24th, 2011 at 8:31 pm
#230 – Yeah, 5 straight for the Phillies, 7 of 9.
July 24th, 2011 at 8:48 pm
Sad…
July 24th, 2011 at 8:51 pm
Come on. Dontrelle Willis hasn’t been good in, what, 7 years?
July 24th, 2011 at 8:53 pm
What team with a big ballpark has someone we could use that could be had for Beachy?
(unfortunately the facetiousness of my tone is not conveyed by text…)
July 24th, 2011 at 8:59 pm
That was 2 of the worst ABs……………..
Quick, swing at everything. We have a plane to catch.
July 24th, 2011 at 9:01 pm
I hate that this game is on ESPN.
July 24th, 2011 at 9:02 pm
I want Joe Morgan and Jon Miller back. I can’t listen to these haters anymore. Bobby Valentine just said Heyward should change the very swing that got him to the majors and almost won him the rookie of the year. Stupid..
July 24th, 2011 at 9:08 pm
Bobby V absolutely hates the Braves. He shouldnt be allowed to call Braves games.
July 24th, 2011 at 9:11 pm
Whatever happens before the trade deadline…we should probably keep McCann. Bobby V sounds so disappointed.
July 24th, 2011 at 9:11 pm
Maybe that will shake Dontrell a bit… (hopefully)
July 24th, 2011 at 9:12 pm
So does Hershiser. It’s like ESPN has a casting call for every jack hat I have hated in the history of baseball. When’s Leyritz getting his shot?
July 24th, 2011 at 9:17 pm
Good job getting two runs back. All we need is a lead going into the 7th. Hopefully Willis has a Lowe type implosion.
July 24th, 2011 at 9:19 pm
Wow. They actually just said something nice about McCann.
July 24th, 2011 at 9:23 pm
Why can’t Prado’s play be excellent Prado Mr. Valentine?
July 24th, 2011 at 9:23 pm
@ Curt
Imagine a show called “Leyritz and Bell”. Where Jim Leyritz and Albert Belle discuss baseball, steroids, and being douche bags. I would watch it. Special Correspondent John Rocker.
July 24th, 2011 at 9:34 pm
New show tonight?
July 24th, 2011 at 9:41 pm
And because of the positioning of his mouth, Valentine probably sounds stupid in the booth…
July 24th, 2011 at 9:41 pm
“Based on the position of Freeman, he was probably safe on the play.”
Classic Valentine
Unbelievable.
July 24th, 2011 at 9:48 pm
Can he get any more biased. This is supposed to be a neutral telecast.
July 24th, 2011 at 9:50 pm
Totally saw that swinging bunt coming. Hunker down Mr. Beachy.
