Opps, forgot:
Braves are 14th in average road attendence.
At last nights game, i estimate that 20% of the fans were for the Braves. In the 90′s, I am guessing that it was over half and yes, I was there. Obviously, the Rockies have now built their fan base and TBS no longer builds the “America’s team” franchise. Oh, for the good old days.
July 19th, 2011 at 6:55 pm
I too long for the days of TBS. The only thing about the TBS game is: It’s like watching it on Peachtree TV; no pre/post game. Still, I’d rather see the Braves broadcast nationwide rather than local.
July 19th, 2011 at 9:06 pm
Rain delays certainly don’t increase the chances of watching the whole game.

Just went from bad to worse…………..
July 19th, 2011 at 10:02 pm
Well, I don’t guess the bats are going to come to life tonight.
July 19th, 2011 at 10:55 pm
We just need to make sure Dan Uggla gets 5 more at bats!
July 19th, 2011 at 11:15 pm
Well, you’d hope for a better start from Beachy but hey, our No 5 versus their ace — whatch gon’ do? Now, Fredi, bring on Proctor and let’em score 14 runs.
July 20th, 2011 at 1:08 am
Latest quote from Fredi: “I’m not a big numbers guy”. So now we can add Math to the list of things that he’s not good at. Numbers are there for a reason — they don’t lie. I heard Steve say several times that “Fredi is not a smart baseball guy”. I think we need to make that statement more general.

Numbers often lie.
July 20th, 2011 at 10:15 am
One thing is for sure about numbers: The are 100% accurate at “predicting” the past
July 20th, 2011 at 11:59 am
Guys…on Chipper. I don’t think we NEED him for the run. Stay with me. If he was the healthy, producing Chipper of years ago…yes. But NEEDING a guy that we have no idea how healthy he is AND how long he can take the beating of the season. Chipper is great…if he’s in everyday playing condition. To think he’ll ever achieve that again is wishful thinking.
July 20th, 2011 at 12:11 pm
#61…Steve? is that you?
hard to say weather having chipper is vital, but it sure wont hurt. cant wait to have him back.
July 20th, 2011 at 12:14 pm
Come on Steve…out with it!
July 20th, 2011 at 12:38 pm
Vinnie (if that is really you), unfortunately Steve has ruined my ability to take what you say seriously. It’s not you, it’s him.
Whoever you are, I think we need him. He’s our leader. Not for every at bat, but for the important ones, I like my chances with him over 70% of the team. Healthy or (somewhat) not.

@41
Are you wanting to give McLouth the nickname Possum because they play dead at home and get killed on the road?
July 20th, 2011 at 2:14 pm
#65 is awesome. I wish I knew who that was.
July 20th, 2011 at 2:26 pm
So, if they trade Lowe to Detroit, anticipating they pick up a little salary, who do you think they ask for?
Francisco Martinez ? Bruce Rondon ?
July 20th, 2011 at 2:27 pm
Sorry, 65 & 66 were mine… I keep forgetting that entry lately…
July 20th, 2011 at 2:31 pm
I would have liked to have seen the Michael Cuddyer & Omar Infante aquisitions an article talked about, but the Twins have published their intention to re-sign Cuddyer or let him walk if they can’t – NO TRADE by July 31…
July 20th, 2011 at 2:40 pm
What do you think about acquiring Luke Gregerson from the San Diego Padres? He does have a lousy ERA away from Petco, so that might be a concern… but he HAS to be a better option than Proctor… maybe it gives Fredi a four headed option at the end of games… then he can pitch four relievers for an inning each every game…
July 20th, 2011 at 2:42 pm
Saw this today….
SI’s Jon Heyman runs through ten Beltran suitors, naming the Phillies the “clear favorite.”
Heard the Mets gave Beltran a list of teams and the Braves were not on it.
Looks like the Phillies are trying to make the “best team” better. I guess we hope that Freddi’s “numbers” all work out…..
July 20th, 2011 at 2:46 pm
What would you think of Jordan Schafer and Carlos Perez for Marlon Byrd?
Pretty good fielder (not quite as good as Schafer, but better than most – UZR Schafer 3.7, Byrd 2.8) and upgrade in CF on O (Schafer .601 OPS, Byrd .769).
July 20th, 2011 at 2:49 pm
Seems most of press I see ranks Minor as being “a number 3 starter at best” opinion…
Is that what you folks think?
Wonder if we need to revisit our “who would you trade first” ranking/discussion…?
July 20th, 2011 at 2:53 pm
Speaking of #67 & 73…
If Lowe were to “go”, who would you fill the opening in the Braves rotation with (assuming we don’t aquire someone…)?
I assume it would be limited to Minor, Teheran or Delgado…
July 20th, 2011 at 4:41 pm
This just in: Ph the Phillies.
