4-0 Braves and we’ll need 4 more runs with Lowe out there off to a poor start.
August 8th, 2011 at 7:54 pm
Way to go offense! So how long til lowe coughs this lead up?
August 8th, 2011 at 8:00 pm
When DOB posts “perfect inning for Lowe” I cry happy tears. Go Braves!!
August 8th, 2011 at 8:08 pm
This lead should be good enough and we had a pretty good streak going until Hanson got pounded.
From Elias: The Braves had an early 5-2 lead before dropping a 11-7 decision to the Mets. Before Saturday night, the Braves had won the last 51 games in which they had owned a lead of at least three runs, dating back to September of last season. That had been the longest current streak for any major-league team and it was the second-longest the Braves have had since moving to Atlanta in 1966. (The Braves won 60 straight games with leads of three-or-more runs during the 2002 season.)

Freddie has a one game hitting streak
August 8th, 2011 at 9:06 pm
YEAH DAN!
Got a ball in the air w/ Bourn on 3rd and less than two outs (with a man on first – i.e. potential double play). Something that Prado should have done with a man on 3rd and NO OUTS!

#24 – I know it’s easy for me to say, but I disagree. Heyward is not Frenchy. All we know is that he’s a potential superstar. With Frenchy he obviously had huge holes in his swings and was more of an athlete than a baseball player. That’s not the case with Heyward. Which, again, is why he should be in there.

I could not be more excited about the Uggla hit streak, by the way.
August 8th, 2011 at 9:41 pm
Some of the umpires are getting WAY TOO BIG of an ego!
What an a-hole!
August 8th, 2011 at 9:47 pm
#33 – Yeah. Pretty reprehensible.

Can you tell by the announcers choice of words that they “know” about Proctor?
“Good night for Christian Martinez. Now Proctor will try to finish this off without any drama”… How funny!
August 8th, 2011 at 9:58 pm
With a 5 run lead, when Proctor walked the first man, I would have pulled him. NO EXCUSE for walking a man in the ninth with a FIVE RUN LEAD!!!
August 8th, 2011 at 9:59 pm
3-2 to the first batter
3-2 to the second batter
August 8th, 2011 at 10:01 pm
How can you pitch from behind with a FIVE RUN LEAD?
August 8th, 2011 at 10:02 pm
Well, at least now Kimbrell can get a save…
August 8th, 2011 at 10:02 pm
Well, I guess if he hits him it save a few pitches…
August 8th, 2011 at 10:04 pm
2-0 to batter three
3-2 to batter four
Maybe this outing will get Proctor off the team… Probably not, but hope springs eternal…
August 8th, 2011 at 10:17 pm
I never thought I would say this:
“How long before Linebrink is back?”
August 8th, 2011 at 10:34 pm
I have a feeling Proctor knows something scandalous and is blackmailing Frank Wren. Frank just tell Mrs. Wren the truth so you can just release him. LOL
On another note, Joe DiMaggio here we comes Uggla.
August 8th, 2011 at 10:40 pm
*here comes Uggla
August 8th, 2011 at 10:47 pm
@33
I now think EVEN LESS of the home plate umpire now that I have heard that is the FIRST TIME Freddie has been thrown out of a game at ANY level… IN HIS ENTIRE LIFE!
August 8th, 2011 at 11:00 pm
MLB umpires certainly have a racket going on. Talk about job security.
35: Joe Simpson made another statement that I cannot recall at the moment that was sort of a dig at Proctor.
I really don’t think Proctor will be on the team if we make it to the post or maybe even in September. The Braves eventually did the right thing with KK and I think they’ll do the right thing with Proctor as well.

The Heyward debate is a good one, but man, Georgie is bringing a lot to the table. He’s so much better and cheaper than McLouth. Good find.

#43 LOL, If Wren CAN get those pictures back, Proctor is GONE. Time to get a look at some Gwinnett pitchers who can throw strikes with a 5 run lead. There has to be someone better.
August 9th, 2011 at 1:09 pm
#48 – I’d rather just bring Gearrin back up.
