Scouting reports might be out on Constanza. Great way to grind it out with 45 games left in the regular season.

    Walker Says:

—Can we give Alex Gonzalez some props. He has actually been coming up big lately.

—Kimbrel got real lucky with that at bat against Cameron. There were about 3 pitches in the happy zone.

@ 72 I could manage this team better than Fredi.

    Curt Says:

Kimbrel needs a break. Having to pitch him in game 1 of this series was a joke. I think this is 4 games in a row now. He needs a night off.

Just watched the extra innings from last night’s game. Stanton really got behind that throw to the plate didn’t he! Yikes! I’m seriously afraid of him. Kudos to his Mama!

Also, J-Hey cannot catch a break.

Proctor finally released. I’m so happy.

    #80, Huge.

    Nate Says:

Talking Chop is worth a read today. The Proctor stuff in there is comical, and the “Vizzy” stuff is really exciting.

Anybody paying attention to Beltran in SF? We dodged a bullet on that one. Especially considering the help the Four Horsemen of the Pitchpocalypse could provide our big league club down the stretch.

    Steve Says:

#62 – Leah, my argument about sitting Heyward was never about worry that it would mess with him mentally. It’s that he’s the superior ball player to Constanza and should be playing over him.

    Steve Says:

Could not be happier about the Proctor release. And I’m damn excited to see how Vizcaino will do.

    DAP Says:

@ nate, pitchpocaolypse? im stealing it.

  12. 87
    Curt Says:

I told you guys about the ’98 team. Read accompanied ESPN article linked within. Of course you have to relive all of Bobby’s terrible managerial decisions, but fight through it.

  13. 88
    Nate Says:

#85, that’s fine. I stole it from the guy who does Talking Chop.

  14. 89
    Jo-Bu Says:

Thank God and Greyhound Proctor’s gone!!! That’ll probabbly be the end of his MLB career.

  15. 90
    Nate Says:

    #86, Just a platoon nightmare.

  16. 91
    Walker Says:

Can you really blame Bobby? How about blame the players who absolutely sucked. Danny Bautista and Graffinino were obviously were hitting lefties pretty well. They just sucked this time. Maybe Bobby should have told Maddux that Lopez would start. Kerry Ligtenberg couldn’t stop the Padres. Glavine gave up 5 runs in game 6. Is that Bobby’s fault?

  17. 92
    Curt Says:

That Bobby would ever start Eddie Perez over Javy in any playoff game, let alone 2 elimination games? Yeah, that’s not Bobby. Eddie should have gotten hits.

  18. 93
    Curt Says:

Is it sad that I am stressed about how many games we have left with the Nats?

    Mark in Memphis Says:

Bet he can throw strikes with a 5 run lead…

I just hope Fredi isn’t doing to Kimbrell what Joe Torre did to Proctor (2006 89 games, 102.1 innings – Tommy John in 2009, never the same pitcher…)

We probably won’t know till next year…

    Anonymous Says:

    @94…now there’s a happy thought.

    john j Says:

Great to see Prado have a good game; and with Chipper even at 80%, things are looking up for the offense. Also, with Gonzo contributing and Proctor gone, and McCann healing, what could be better? Now, all we need is a little more from the starters and we can make our October plans.

  23. 98
    john j Says:

    Or, is this premature infatuation?

    Mark in Memphis Says:

I would like to see a bit better BA with RISP also…
