#24, sorry, never suggested Bourn should swap batting order with Constanza. Point was that maybe Constanza has earned a spot at the top while he is hot. Could Bourn bat second? Or, Bourn first, the “kid” second?
Anne, #26, Braves shirt in SF is OK but don’t do it at Dodger stadium if you travel down south. Think twice about Oakland also; I know from experience but that was a NFL game with this dummy wearing a Broncos shirt. I’m sure the baseball fans have twice the IQ of the Raiders fans so it may be safe.

John J – yes, and helps that I’m in the east bay where they care a bit more about the A’s. I’m pretty good at ducking.

Great article Steve. I kinda wish I hadn’t read it though. The writer scared the hell out of me when he was talking about Fredi Gonzalez.
“The playoffs scream out for creative managing, starting pitchers brought on in relief, ace pinch-hitters coming up early in a game when a high-leverage situation warrants it, closers used in nontraditional roles. Bruce Bochy’s outmanaging Ron Washington wasn’t the only reason the Giants beat the Rangers in the World Series last fall. But it did help. Braves fans better hope their team’s playoff life doesn’t come down to a managerial battle of wits.”

Just heard on the news that the Sinatra Estate wants in on the fate of the Dodgers.

Hello from Bub who’ll return when his life settles.

Oh dear…another blow to the Giants. Hate it for them but if the baseball gods deem it so then glad it’s happening in Atlanta. Poor injured pitcher…

Constanza! So many things go wrong over the long season, it is nice to see a positive surprise that nobody expected. If his success lasts for another month or one more at bat, this is fun to watch.

No idea Nate had to have surgery.

Glad we didn’t trade Delgado!
August 16th, 2011 at 8:24 pm
So I just checked in. Is Delgado as good as the box score?
August 16th, 2011 at 8:41 pm
Somebody better put a ball on Ross’s ankles at his next plate appearance…
Let’s see him dance then…
August 16th, 2011 at 8:42 pm
Come on Ross…hit your homer and make your way around the bases. Mercy. No need to gloat. I hope he gets plunked.
August 16th, 2011 at 8:44 pm
Think Eric is pissed after his last outing????
August 16th, 2011 at 8:46 pm
@65
I don’t want them to hit him, Leah… just throw a ball at his ankles and watch him dance then…
I wouldn’t mind seeing a “face plant” as well…
August 16th, 2011 at 9:01 pm
If we’re winning by a few runs and no one’s on base I hope Kimbrel pegs him right in the kidney. That was completely classless. I still see him in teal blue and it makes me grouchy.
August 16th, 2011 at 9:14 pm
Yeah…take that Cody…
August 16th, 2011 at 9:27 pm
Oh Marteeen…I so was celebrating.
August 16th, 2011 at 9:48 pm
Walk Chip to get to Gonzalez…Bochy is smart.
August 16th, 2011 at 9:54 pm
Why cant Alex just strike out?
August 16th, 2011 at 9:55 pm
WORTHLESS GONZALEZ IS
August 16th, 2011 at 9:59 pm
That 10th was handled very well. Freeman wanted to make up for yesterday. I missed the play. did he think his run meant something?
August 16th, 2011 at 10:04 pm
I know that this was sooooo 10th inning, but did y’all hear Chip or Joe say, when Alex Gonzalez was up, that he’s a hard man to double up? I guess that the other 14 times he’s grounded into a DP this year was sheer defensive luck.
