Looked like ball 5 to me

Well, even a blind pig will come up with an acorn every once in a while…
I hope it give him some confidence… (it was “an out” instead of “being out” in most every park but Wrigley)…
August 23rd, 2011 at 9:05 pm
But, with all due respect, you hit based on where you are at the time…
August 23rd, 2011 at 9:08 pm
DAMAGE!!! Grand Slam!!
This is the benefit with having someone with a little more pop in his bat. Love Constanza, but only as a pinch hitter and pinch runner.

The bottom of the 7th is giving me heartburn. Hey, did anybody feel the quake today? I did…spooky.
August 23rd, 2011 at 10:27 pm
what is Prado doing to deserve the number 2 spot in the lineup?
August 23rd, 2011 at 10:32 pm
Chipper just stopped running. I love how Joe Simpson and Glavine are analyzing his lack of hustle. If that had been anybody else.
August 23rd, 2011 at 10:34 pm
#55 – I saw news reports listing Atlanta as one of the cities that experienced the quake, but I felt nothing.
#56 – It has been a very inconsistent year for Prado for sure. But I always expect a quality at bat from him. Right or wrong.

Not only 2 hits for Heyward, but both to the opposite field. Hopefully a good sign.
August 23rd, 2011 at 10:37 pm
Good for Heyward. I don’t see anyone else hitting it out.
August 23rd, 2011 at 10:59 pm
PHEW!!! Great win!
August 23rd, 2011 at 11:01 pm
That was just plain good baseball.
August 23rd, 2011 at 11:01 pm
Ya know…without the errors.
August 23rd, 2011 at 11:08 pm
#63 – Funny.
But, you know what, it all worked out and is another flavor of win under the Braves belts. Nothing but good.
Giants down 4 – 0 in the 4th.
August 23rd, 2011 at 11:09 pm
Chipper hot and Heyward coming around? Who would have thought?
August 23rd, 2011 at 11:12 pm
Braves are playing their best baseball since 2003.
August 24th, 2011 at 1:49 am
9.5 game lead

Good times all around. FINALLY listened to the show (Thanks, Curt!) Walter Banks is still workin’ the ushering gig…I think he’s in the section just behind the Braves on-deck circle. That guy should use some shade…I’d move up a section if I were him! Dude in my office was just saying at the coffee pot this morning that it’s so great to see Freddie Freeman doing so well, and pointed out (I’m sure it’s been said here before) that it’s so much like McCann/Francoeur where McCann stepped out of the shadow to be great…and now Freeman/Heyward, same thing.
Went to bed last night at 5-0 and was shocked but relieved to see 5-4. Whew! GO BRAVES…up with the hope meter!!

@66 I was JUST thinking the same thing…….
Ok everyone…..Fill in the blank:
This is the best Braves team since _________.
August 24th, 2011 at 10:42 am
@69 – sliced bread?
I’ve been thinking of what Steve said about Chipper just saying he’s coming back to keep the media at bay as we head toward post-season. Maybe he wants to bookend his career with division titles (didn’t we win one in 1993)?
August 24th, 2011 at 12:02 pm
@69 – Good question. When was the last time we were at .600 this late in the season?
August 24th, 2011 at 12:04 pm
Concerning the Kelly Johnson trade:
I wonder if the same person who helped Bautista with his mechanics might do the same thing for Kelly…
August 24th, 2011 at 12:41 pm
If anyone cares……. This time in 2002 Smoltz had 45 saves and Kimbrel has 40 (and he is a rookie..wow)
I think I know the answer to this. Are the “September call ups” included in the Post season roster? I suppose they are elligible…… With that being said with all of our pitching, who stays and who goes? Delgado, Minor, Beachy? What kind of rotation? Does Lowe make the post season roster? (Of course he does!)
In the interview after the game last night with Heyward were the words “that is not relevant to the conversation” go through anyones head?
August 24th, 2011 at 12:44 pm
ALSO……..sorry
Is anyone enjoying Tom Glavine in the booth as much as I am?
Amazing how he calls almost every pitch!
August 24th, 2011 at 1:08 pm
#73 – Great stat about Smoltz vs. Kimbrel at this point. Love it.
-> You’ve got to be on the 25 man prior to Sept 1 to make the playoff roster (unless you’re an injury replacement and then the timing is irrelevant).
-> I’ve moved past the “that is not relevant to the conversation” stuff as my hatred of Constanza leaves room for nothing else.
