Reading through the posts to catch up. It’s like having the Cliff’s Notes to a tragedy. A Greek tragedy for sure; Shakespeare wouldn’t be this cruel.

I would trade this year’s playoffs for a new manager.

Bub! Where have you been? We’ve been in such a state!
That totally sounds like Jane Austin. Skipping the BS that is the last 8 games of the season an going straight to post season literature talk.

You can read this. I can’t really determine how it will make you feel. In the meantime, I’ll be putting hot sauce in my eyes.

It’s pretty bad now that Gonzalez is the LEAST of our worries…
Here is more salt for our wounds…came from espn.com
It’s a rare loss of this sort for the Braves. They hadn’t lost a game on a come-from-behind walk-off home run with 2 outs in the 9th inning or later since June 29, 1999 when they lost to the Expos, 6-5, on a 3-run walk-off home run by Vladimir Guerrero. It’s only the 3rd such loss for the Braves since 1963 (the other was in 1980).

Leah, just stuck with school. Haven’t seen or listened to a game in weeks.
By the way, thinking of a road trip to your neck of the woods with my sister to see Biltmore when the leaves change, if school calms down enough. Think you could let me know when it starts to look good? Also, a heads up on some general Asheville info (food, etc) would be appreciated.

If this is Greek tragedy, shouldn’t you guys be putting out your eyes?

Chipper guarantees a win tonight. Better back it up.

I’m just starting the last chapter now…

This is feeling pretty good. Although I can’t believe I’m worried about how a Gonzo injury may negatively impact the offense.
September 20th, 2011 at 9:28 pm
Just checked in and I’m excited by the scores.

Mike Pelfrey is no good

I know that we love to slay Fredi Gonzalez around here, but what in the world is Tony LaRussa thinking?? He allowed a relief pitcher to walk 4 batters, including one with the bases loaded.
September 20th, 2011 at 10:57 pm
Forgive LaRussa, he was probably a little wasted.

Gotta give the Cardinals credit…. They are playing great baseball

How freaking big is Lowe’s start tonight? Mammoth. Both for the WC race and the prospects of success in the post season. As big as last night was, this one is just as big or bigger.

Having grown up in the East Bay and having the A’s stadium literally in sight from my backyard, I’m looking forward to Moneyball. I wish the promo wouldn’t be every other commercial, though.

…Brad Pitt + baseball=yummy.

Bub, leaves are just starting to change. Mid October is the peak season I believe. Boone is a great little town as is Black Mountain. Other than that Ashville is where I go to see the Avett’s play. That’s all I really know.
Did y’all know the Avett Brothers are awesome?
September 21st, 2011 at 10:14 am
Steve…..TOTALLY AGREE. I just hope he makes it through the first inning!

Is Liván Hernández pitching against us when we play the Nats? Please say it isn’t so!!
Has anyone seen the new “Miami Marlins” logo? It is the worst logo I have ever seen in sports.
Saw that Freddie Freeman is the first rookie to hit 20 homeruns since a guy named Chipper did it. BTW that guy Chipper did not win ROY. Some guy named Nomo did. Where is Nomo now?

Apparently Matt Diaz cost us something called Eliecer Cardenas. A single A player with a 27.00 ERA.

DOB tweeted today about Chris Medlen and his rehab…totally forgot he existed.
