    Steve Says:

Wow – just saw the Marlins logo. It really is terrible. It doesn’t look like baseball colors, that’s for sure. And so uninteresting.

This will be just like the Braves. Get a better than decent start from the biggest question mark on your staff and still not win. Sigh.

    Frigatedoc Says:

    My postseason “hopemeter” is a – 5

We WILL lose tonight and the Cardinals are playing too good to lose.

The Cardinals still play the Cubs and the Astros….

We play the Nats and Phillies……

    Put a folk in it…….

    Nate Says:

Time to get Chipper involved in this game, no?

  4. 79
    Curt Says:

how pathetic that we have series remaining against two of the worst teams in the NL and we have no faith

    Leah Says:

The Rev will be at the game in St. Louis in Friday night right behind the Cards dugout. I told him cheer for the Cubbies like there’s no tomorrow or don’t come home.

    Leah Says:

    I don’t think I can watch 2 out in the 9th.

    1) Mac can’t see
    2) Cards will win tonight
    3) please pass the Tums!

    David Says:

    How’s that chant go?

Let’s go METS!! Let’s go METS!!

    Frigatedoc Says:

Curt? “two of the worst teams in the NL”

The Phillies? (Even though they are playing poorly)

    The Nats…….they OWN us

It’s the Cardinals who have the worst teams in the NL remaining……

    Oedipus Says:

I was referring to this series with the Marlins and now the Nats. Of course, not the Phils. Although, they can’t beat anyone right now – until they come to Atlanta.

  10. 85
    Curt Says:

    That was me

  11. 86
    Frigatedoc Says:

    13 losses in 20 games……….

  12. 87
    Frigatedoc Says:

Like the Tweet said…….can’t blame it on Lowe. I am with Leah……McCann can’t see

  13. 88
    Walker Says:

PLease to GOD that the Cardinals lose tomorrow. We cannot face Strasburg with a 1 game lead. This team is so sad.

    Bubdylan Says:

McCann’s vision problems still haven’t been properly diagnosed. The man almost definitely has ocular rosacea, which is highly responsive to sugar and caffeine levels, but also other things such as heat, light, blood sugar level, spices, dairy products, carbohydrates, and food temperatures. It is treatable with special drops. It is a highly elusive diagnosis due to most optomitrist’s inexperience with the condition. Glasses and contacts often fail because the vision level doesn’t stay the same as it is at the time of the eye test. It comes and goes and in all different degrees.

David O’Brien thinks I’m a nut and won’t pass it along. But when it comes out ten years from now that the Braves lost out on success and McCann lost millions, just know that one internet fan had the damn cure in the palm of his mouse all along…

Brian’s symptoms match perfectly. His mild facial redness, his Irish blood, the intermittent nature of the problem, the trouble with the contacts, the improvement from stopping energy drinks (caffeine and sugar) the day/night difference, and most tellingly, the failure of his optomitrist to track it down.

End of useless rant. Somebody take a sign to a game or something.

  15. 90
    Bubdylan Says:

p.s. the squinting is also indicative. Ocular rosacea forms a film over the eye lens which is responsive to squinting which sometimes moves the film out of the way.

  16. 91
    Bubdylan Says:

p.p.s. For the record, I could be wrong. But if I’m right, then for the record, I never doubted myself.

    Stupid DOB…

  17. 92
    Walker Says:

Wow Bubdylan. We seriously need to find some way for this information to get to the clubhouse. Have you tried tweeting Medlen or Moylan? Does Smoltz have a twitter?

  18. 93
    Frigatedoc Says:

Not a bad assessment Bubdylan and certainly a good differential diagnosis…..I’ll bet Frenchy would tell him if you got it to him.

Does anyone remember him squinting when he was a rookie? I thought he had lasix a few years ago?

  19. 94
    Leah Says:

We could take a sign to the ballpark but of course he couldn’t see it. I’m gonna tweet it to as much of Braves country as I can find. And…guys…it’s over. Not gonna make it to this post season. Hope meter is at a negative 100.

  20. 95
    David Says:

94 — sadly, I’m with you on the hope meter being waaaayyy down. Playing against Washington gives me the willies — although I’m really relieved that Livan Hernandez isn’t scheduled to pitch against us. (What’s wrong with him anyway? He hasn’t pitched since Sept. 4.)

A huge question for this offseason if we don’t make it to the playoffs: Does Fredi get a pass or the axe? If we don’t make it, I think it’s because of injuries to Hanson and Jurrjens — which aren’t really the fault of Fredi.

On the other hand, it seems that he’s done what Francona did with the Red Sox — i.e., that both managers sent the message that their teams just need to play out the rest of the season, they’ve got it locked up, they’re focusing on the playoffs.

  21. 96
    David Says:

Also, I’m sure y’all saw DOB’s tweet last night — “Whaddya think, #Braves fans, might be time to fly ‘6’ up to DC to fire up the squad?”

Not sure if that was DOB or Carol, but either way, that would hugely undermine Fredi Gonzalez and his position as leader and manager of the team.

  22. 97
    Pure Says:

CoolStandings now shows Atlanta’s playoff percentage at 63.9% 🙁 It was at 99% a few weeks back.

  23. 98
    Curt Says:

In all fairness, the Braves have broken our hearts in every conceivable fashion, but an epic collapse, so maybe they felt like they owed us. Just to finish off our Braves gut punch memorabilia collection. They should make a commemorative plate series. Time Life or the Franklin Mint can put them out.

  24. 99
    Curt Says:

Plate 1 featuring Charlie Leibrandt and Lonnie Smith

    Curt Says:

Order now. Operators standing by. Supplies won’t last.
