Um, we could really do with Venters being a shut down guy again.
April 5th, 2012 at 3:50 pm
Why in the world was Chad Durbin warming up in a 1 run game?
April 5th, 2012 at 4:01 pm
#52, It’s never too early save the bullpen apparently.
April 5th, 2012 at 4:01 pm
That sucked. Really the worst case scenario start for the team.
April 5th, 2012 at 4:01 pm
4 hits… time to look for a new hitting coach.
AGAINST THE METS!!!!!
April 5th, 2012 at 4:04 pm
Yes the Braves offense sucked but not pinch hitting for Diaz and Constanza killed us. Thanks Fredi.
April 5th, 2012 at 4:25 pm
#56, absolutely.
April 5th, 2012 at 5:02 pm
…and now: a well-deserved day off.
April 5th, 2012 at 5:09 pm
Good news: we (the ABT family) are back! I love the in game comments and all y’all.
Bad news: the Braves. Ugh.
April 5th, 2012 at 6:24 pm
#59. Good to be back too Ham, but man I wish we could have started with a win.
There goes the stat for the “1 run losses.”
April 5th, 2012 at 6:47 pm
At least Uggla had a hitting streak started. 1.
April 5th, 2012 at 9:08 pm
#61: Actually, Uggla’s hitting streak carries over from the end of last season. He hit safely in the final game of the season, so his streak is at 2.
Prado hit safely in the final 3 games, so his streak is at 4.
April 5th, 2012 at 9:30 pm
Only A’s and Mariners players have hit homeruns so far this baseball season.
April 5th, 2012 at 9:31 pm
Oh, never mind. I’m a little late.
April 6th, 2012 at 10:58 am
Agree with you guys saying Diaz and Constanza should have been replaced by pinch hitters. Diaz vs RHP is a horrible matchup for the Braves 9 times out of 10. Apparently everyone knows this but Fredi Gonzalez.
April 6th, 2012 at 11:27 am
“Apparently everyone knows this but Fredi Gonzalez.”
That whole sentence should just be a key on every keyboard. And when you hit SHIFT, it types “Maybe next year.”
April 6th, 2012 at 11:37 am
#66 – ha ha and boo hoo.
April 6th, 2012 at 2:34 pm
The Mets gave away one of their 9 remaining outs in the 7th inning with a sac bunt attempt and tried to help the Braves out. Fredi is not the only stupid manager in the majors. Backasswardness is just the nature of managers, I’ve come to believe.
April 6th, 2012 at 6:10 pm
It may have been the Mets but it was also Santana. #rosecoloredglasses
April 6th, 2012 at 7:01 pm
Can we trade Fredi for Joe Maddon?
April 6th, 2012 at 10:42 pm
#70 yes, please.
April 6th, 2012 at 11:52 pm
I thought apart from failing to sign for Costanza to squeeze Pastornicky home, Fredi did a good job managing the game. That would’ve changed everything. I think we oughta give our guys a little more credit. Santana has always been an albatross for us, & we were able to knock him out due to a high pitch count early…I really wonder how our “advanced scouting position” will work out for us. We’ll only find that out when we face a pitcher we’ve never seen before. Oh ye of little faith, it was only the first game! #morerosecoloredglasses
April 7th, 2012 at 12:04 am
The only good thing Fredi did was that he pulled Hanson and brought in Medlen at the right time. Other than that he was horrible.
April 7th, 2012 at 7:42 am
Its a new day and I’m ready for the Braves to change the storyline on this season. Seems insane that this is in play for the second game of the season.
April 7th, 2012 at 12:08 pm
I’m all for scoring a run or two. Put me down in that camp. The run scorers.
