    Davey Johnson quote:

“Any time you go up against the club that’s fighting you for the division it’s more weighted. There’s more concentration. There’s more energy level. There’s more on the table. Atlanta. After yesterday they were very dejected. After today they were very dejected because they know. They’ve got a pretty good lead on the wild card but they don’t want the wild card. Believe it. Everybody was all excited about the new wild card being added. I wasn’t real keen on it. I knew right away that you could be the second club in your division and you’ve got a one-game playoff. It’s not a comfortable feeling for clubs fighting for the pennant. Same way with San Francisco and LA. There’s heat on them.”

    #Braves lineup: 1. Prado LF, 2. Johnson CF, 3. Heyward RF, 4. Jones 3b, 5. Freeman 1B, 6. Ross C, 7. Pastornicky 2B, 8. Janish sS, 9. Medlen

That’s quite a shakeup. I don’t mind. Even if we lose I’ll be glad. Gotta try something.

    Curt Says:

They keep talking about this tough stretch of pitching we have to face, as if when we would be in the playoffs we would be facing some really terrible staffs.

    David Says:

Medlen is my favorite pitcher. When my wife saw him for the first time ever just now, she said, “who’s the 10-year old?”

I said, “that’s Kris Medlen, the best pitcher on the Braves right now.” She said, “what about T-Huddy?” I said, “pssshhhh.”

    Which commercial is most annoying?

    A) Wendy’s “baconator” commercial with obnoxious redhead and man buying a recliner at a yard sale

    B) Nissan “summer saving” commercial (set to Grease’s “summer lovin” song)

    C) Suntrust “my daughter, engaged already” commercial (the same on tv as well as radio)

    D) all of the above

  7. 82
    Curt Says:

    a little better

  8. 83
    Walker Says:

I want Medlen over Hudson in a one game playoff as of now.

    will Says:

oh dont be such a whiner curtis! we could have won the first one, the second one we were dominated, and we won the third one

we can still beat them in the playoffs if our bats show up and …and…and

  10. 85
    Walker Says:

My vote goes to that Nissan commercial.

  11. 86
    Jo-Bu Says:

83: I agree. Meds is clearly the ace of this staff.

  12. 87
    Tcc Says:

Most annoying is Nissan. Best ever post game interview goes to Meds!

  13. 88
    Walker Says:

6 games out doesn’t seem that bad with 5 weeks worth of baseball left. I’m staying positive. We can still win this division.

  14. 89
    Leah Says:

Curt you’re forgiven. I was really mad at you for your “throw up” comment on the Fb page. I had to DVR the game and I was in the 5th when I saw that comment pop up and thought “Dammit! I bet they lose this game.” #79 gets you out of the doghouse.

    Frigatedoc Says:

    C) because it is on the radio as well and I mostly listen to the games….

My favorite is the Allstate commercial that says “the Braves never over pay for players, so why would you over pay for insurance?”

I guess Allstate has never heard of Mike Hampton, Derek Lowe, or Dan Uggla.

  16. 91
    Frigatedoc Says:

    Medlen is our Ace……hands down!

  17. 92
    will Says:

@88 I agree! so duz curt secretly!

    David Says:

90 — YES. The AllState commercial is terrible. Every time I hear it I think of the three you mentioned as well as KK. There’s also the Teixeira trade — overpaying in a different way.

  20. 95
    Leah Says:

    Really curious about tonight’s lineup.

  21. 96
    will Says:

im curious to see Sheets kick it tonight…especially after Stevie threw him under the entire Marta fleet. we all know the braves listen to the podcast

  22. 97
    will Says:

curious as in praying that it happens…what is the Marta equivalent in SF?

  23. 98
    Curt Says:

    BART? maybe…

  24. 99
    Leah Says:

Uggla and Mac back to back singles. Wha?

  25. 100
    Walker Says:

I can’t wait until the National League adopts the Designated Hitter. I’m so over the horrible hitting from the pitchers.
