vs R: .243 /.327/.334 in 909 PA
vs. L: .172/.251/.235 in 228 PA
228 PA is not a huge sample for a career, especially considering that is between ages 22-26. But that’s enough of a difference to be concerned
Here’s B.J.’s career line vs L: .251/.352/.414 in 1,316 PA.
The tricky thing is knowing whether B.J.’s .160/.224/.226 in 117 PA this season against lefties is more indicative of his true talent and ability or is his career line closer to who he really is.
Since Schafer isn’t very good against lefties either for his career or this season, and since B.J. is the more talented player, unless there is an injury or something that we don’t know about, I’d platoon them.
I am stunned about the shootings in DC. I have been to the Navy Yard several times. You can hit it with a rock from the the Nats stadium. I know that baseball should be the least thing on people’s minds in that area and there MAY NOT be a game tonight.
Layne, the best thing to do is just repeat la la la in your head while we talk about other stuff. Just like most actors are frustrated musicians, most Braves podcasters are frustrated movie reviewers. And we are no exception.
The horribly self obsessed Braves fan thought I had today was of that unexpected day off two years ago in NYC because of the hurricane and that the Braves completely went in the tank after that. I realize that I’m a bad person.
18 — I thought about that as well yesterday. It’s rare when sports games get canceled for circumstances other than weather, so I don’t think THAT makes you a bad person. (Other things, however…)
And congrats to ABT on reaching the level of blogness where you have people complaining on the message board about your off-topic content (@13 and 14)! Just means that you’re growing and getting bigger. DOB can attest as well.
