@24 – Here’s the thing for me. What Chipper did was sh*tty, without a doubt. But the reaction to it by the organization was much worse. Take the high road and don’t show up the legend.

@26 – Roger, that! I thought Chipper’s comments were honest and what you would expect “him” to say. I would not expect Glavin, Smoltz, or any of the other ex-Braves to say something quite as honest. The team should have taken the high road and it only served to make them look thin skinned and unprofessional. Chipper is no longer an employee of the Braves and he also doesn’t draw an MLB paycheck of any kind so I greatly appreciated his honesty. And sure enough, he called it right down to the number of games.

@26 I would flip it around. The team needs to feel the Legend’s support. Having Homer catch was a tongue in cheek way to respond. Could have cancelled his throwing first pitch. I’m mad at him.

    Agree to disagree.

I’m not mad at Chipper. He could have said….well its tough cause of this or that. I’m pulling for the Braves. But I respect his honesty. He could have answered it a bit more like I just said

I don’t think a pena/pastornicky platoon will happen. They both had some really bad injuries and I havnt heard their injury updates lately. I say LA Stella will get at least a look in spring. I expect mybe a low risk high reward player at 2b. K. Johnson or Omar Infante or Brian Roberts. Just my opinion.

@28 – I’m marking this down in my book.

I think my sister is one of the most unbearable Cards fans I know. Misery, pure hell I’m living in.

A text exchange between a friend and me last night:

“At least the Dodgers got smoked.”

“We’re pulling for the Cards, though?”

    “We pulled for Stalin once.”
