What do the PHI and WAS series mean? The Gavin Floyd injury. The new look lineup. And Gattis’ shot at the All Star Game.

    Good show guys.

I am so out of things to say about the team. Just waiting for ’em to show me something. Shot in the dark: we still know nothing this time next week. :/

Do you think that pulling Northcraft from his start after 45 pitches means he will start the back half of the double header?

Possibly to showcase him as trade bait?

    Steve Says:

It’s certainly a possibility. The Braves came out and said it’s not about a trade, but that doesn’t preclude a spot start.

Not looking forward to facing Kyle Kendrick again this week. After his start against us last week (which most of us probably saw coming), I came up with a new nickname for him: “Liberty Media.”

“Still, don’t expect the Nats to shake their Atlanta nemeses any time soon. The Braves have viable options to replace Floyd in the rotation. Moreover, their schedule for the rest of the first half is a raging joke: Atlanta plays all of its final 20 games before the All-Star break against sub.-500 teams, doing battle with the Astros, Phillies, Mets, Diamondbacks, Mets again, and Cubs.”

Kind of now or never, right?

Why are they so down on Julio ? Are they watching the same Teheran I am ?

Heyward may have more talent than Freddie overall, but Heyward is certinly not a better hitter than Freddie.

    Nick Says:

Bj in the leadoff spot!!!! I dont hate anyone….but Freddie i can not stand your decisions like this…….i am appalled.

This is the most assinine, ridiculous, backwards, idiotic, stupifying, infuriating, cockeyed, inexcusable, senseless piece of crap baseball management I have ever seen. BJ Upton needs to be LAST, not first. I can take slumps and struggles and waiting three forevers for a glimpse of good baseball, even a fair amount of compromise for athlete personalitites, but to just go ten miles out of your way to do the most moronic freaking thing conceivable to your struggling offense, for whatever reason – placating a sorry attitude or whatever Fredi is pretending it is, that’s some bullcrap I’m not investing one more second of my summer in. See y’all in the funny papers.

    like i said: Brilliant. :/

Great to win last night. But it inspired no confidence in the offense. A struggling pitcher and we get two solo homeruns.

    Curt Says:

Steve, don’t know if you heard the stat last night, but the Braves, since the implementation of interleague games, have had their DH hit two homers. Two. Homers. Now, granted we don’t carry David Ortiz for the nine road AL games we play a year, but that was astounding. Two.

    Steve Says:

Funny you mention that. I just looked at the lineup for tonight’s game and saw Doumit is the DH and it made me think just how thin our bench is when our best option for a DH is Ryan Doumit.

    Curt Says:

    Rather it be Schaefer

    David Says:

Any takers on whether my Shot In The Dark comes true tonight? Teheran can handle the bat…

“@dwwagner43: @atlbaseballtalk with BJ batting leadoff, an opposing pitcher will intentionally walk a Braves pitcher in order to face BJ #abtsitd”

    Bubdylan Says:

every year I blow my top and file for divorce with th Braves. And every time, they do this immediately after.

  18. 18
    Steve Says:

Bub – it’s because they know. THEY KNOW!

  19. 19
    Bubdylan Says:

They do! Should be a new meme: “They know, right?”

    Bubdylan Says:

These last two innings of Harang are the luckiest awful management I’ve seen in a while. Fredi handing the Phils this game and they won’t take it. Can’t believe we got swept by this team at home.

  21. 21
    Bubdylan Says:

You know Fredi’s doing badly when the homer radio announcers start saying his strategy today is “a bit mysterious”.

That said, what a relief. Is this The Run beginning? How long will it last? How many winning weeks (ABT weeks) in a row will they turn in winning records?

    Bubdylan Says:

*comittee on redundancy committee on Line Two.

@17 they’re all faithful listeners. I’m convinced Will is really Eddie Perez.
