What do you know… three in a row…

Hopefully, “mo” will follow us to LA…

Very, very nervous about the LAD series. But a good showing there would maybe/kinds/sorta point to something positive about the team’s playoff aspirations.

Good call on the Le Batard interview. Very entertaining!

    Danny Says:

I predict that the Braves win 2 against the Dodgers (Beckett and Greinke).

    Steve Says:

It would be a big momentum boost to take 2 in LA.

An analyst thinks that it wouldn’t “take a lot” to get Andrew Miller from the Red Sox… He estimates Aaron Northcraft…

    Would you make that deal?

ANDRUW JONES FOR THE HALL OF FAME!!

I wish Maddux and Glavine would have given some recognition that they had the best defensive outfielder of all time playing behind them all those years. We all remember how Glavine’s 200th win ended.

    Steve Says:

@6 – Yes. Northcraft has struggled. He’s the 16th ranked prospect in the organization. And the bullpen needs to be shored up. Particularly with the inconsistent offense.

    Curt Says:

    Missed opportunity #1

    Steve Says:

@9 – A killer. Win that game last night, and the next two seem to have possibility written all over them. Now I will be shocked if we’re not swept.

    @10

I was thinking the same thing…

    Mark in Memphis Says:

With Simmons on the DL, would you be inclined to sweeten the deal to get Miller from Boston?

Rumor is they want a LH power-hitting outfield prospect. Braves don’t really have that… but Cunningham or Terdo + pitching prospect? Interested?

Credit me with breaking up the perfect game/no hitter… was just about to post “Looks like a perfect one against us tonight…” :)

    Steve Says:

But seriously, they need to sweep the SD series.

    Nice trade Mr. Wren

Obtaining a switch hitting infield/outfield bench player, who is batting .408/.432/.592 against LHP (which both our center fielder and right fielder do much more poorly – .165/.311/.188 and .152/.220/.232, respectively) and a LH bullpen help (which is SO needed) for a Class A catching prospect that was blocked by the major league and Class AAA catcher – well done…

Swapping Bonifacio for Schafer off the bench – no brainer

  18. 18
    Mark in Memphis Says:

    Bonifacio hits .408/.432/.592 against LHP

    B.J. hits .165/.311/.188 against LHP
    Heyward hits .151/.220/.232 against LHP

    Against LHP, would you:

    - stay with the current line-up and use Bonifacio off the bench
    - give Heyward a day off against a tough lefty
    - platoon BJ against LHP, though he hits better against LHP than Heyward

  19. 19
    Mark in Memphis Says:

I copied the slash lines, but I am not sure about the OPS for BJ

  20. 20
    Mark in Memphis Says:

Russell does REALLY well against right handed batters (.103 BAA), but not so well against leftys (.295 BAA)…

Do you think that the Braves coaches can “tweak” Russell so he is better against left handed batters?

    jo-bu Says:

Post season hope meter? How about the regular season hope meter? If we keep losing games, we’ll be lucky to be in third place at the end of September.
