That Markakis trade says alot about the direction of this offense. We just need consistency not streak hitting. I was excited about the Cahill purchase. Sinker ballers need a great defense but, his pitches had no life. Hopefully Roger turns him around.

Chris – agreed on the offense. If it can just stay consistent and the back end of the rotation shores up some…

The enormous holes in the offense last year were a killer. Case in point, for all of Justin’s greatness, it’s hard to depend on a hitter who will absolutely disappear for a month or two at a time.

I hope you’re right about Cahill.

Yeah, Steve. For all the depth with the rest of the roster, the bullpen is thin.

Scott Coleman at Talking Chop posted this today: http://www.talkingchop.com/2015/4/20/8453265/braves-record-lineup-pitching-2015-early-reactions

One of his bullet points is “The bullpen is going to be dead by August.”

He writes, “Three Braves pitchers, Luis Avilan, Brandon Cunniff and Jim Johnson, are all tied for the league lead with seven appearances already.”

On the bright side of things John Hart also said that he is willing to go out of team to purchase a lefty reliever. After reading that I did not sift through the interwebs looking for a pitcher for Atlanta.

Did you see that Ian Thomas was promoted to the big club today? I hope round 2 is better for him than round 1.

Coppolella was on the Baseball Tonight podcast with Buster Olney. He’s on about 40 minutes in: http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=12747564
