I still say try to trade Teheran. The value of a solid bat outweighs one quality starter in this situation. Plus, quality pitchers are usually easier to acquire than quality hitters. It’s about the future…not opening day next year…or the year after.

Do you want a major league ready power bat or a minor league one. There isn’t a team in baseball in playoff contention who would trade a major league power bat for Teheran. Not one. Any trade you make involving Teheran is going to be for one major league bat a la Travis Shaw who is not an impact power bat and a couple prospects.

Tyler – I agree. I have trouble believing the Braves would get a young, controllable, power bat for an SP who’s having an amazing run but does not have long-term proven Ace stuff.

I can’t even think of any power bats that are as controllable as Teheran. That’s another issue all together. Seeing how the Blue Jays seemingly ripped off the A’s when they got Donaldson, I can’t for see us doing the same thing to another team.
