Steve, Steve, Steve … I know that you have a love affair w/M. Stroman, but do you honestly think that the Jays would be dumb enough to trade him to the Braves for the bag of balls & used jockstraps you mentioned? I mean being a Torontoian myself I have seen the cat pitch more than I would like to admit. And though the kid can do the deed w/the best of them when he is on, I am just not sure that is massive ego & antics would fit in with the ‘Braves Way’. And rest assured they sure as all get up would not be welcomed if I ran the team. Also because anyone with two eyes who has watched even a single Braves game this past year knows that ‘our’ pitching on a whole has been disgustingly inept, my first move to address that ugliness ever happening again on such a consistent basis would be to try to trade Swanson and or Teheran & try to get an ‘ace’ that way. Or better yet, though I know that the Braves are far to cheap & timid to try, why not make a sincere effort in trying to land the two way Japanese star, Shohei Otani. Hell at least it would we fans that management has a pulse, would it not? And who would take over for Swanson, you may ask? Answer? The human vacuum cleaner & fleet footed SS from the Texas Rangers, Jurickson Profar. Who granted has been injury prone the past few years, but he was highly touted coming up from Round Rock & whom I still firmly believe has tremendous upside. Never ever a dull moment in Braves Country though, so to say this off-season will be (extremely) interesting would be a massive understatement. So do enjoy & I cannot wait to listen to y’all again real soon. Peace!!!

Hey anon, you should probably take a look at the prospects Steve mentioned before calling them “a bag of balls and a jock strap.” Lol.

Interesting Answer from Kieth LAW on his Klawchat

Question: In light of the Coppella investigation, do you think the O’s concern over participating in the international market because of shady practices of buscones is warranted? It’s possible to participate in the Latin America market “ethically” right?

Keith Law: You can participate ethically but you will likely be shut out of the top end of the market.

It looks like everyone does it, but Coppy was too blatant.

This interview confirms many things and paints a bleak future for the Braves going forward. Unless and until the entire front office/coaching/manager staffs are fired and a new local owner takes over, the Braves will continue to be mired in mediocrity AT BEST. Sad, but there it is.

Liberty Media isn’t selling. Unless someone came in and offered to buy the Braves for more than their worth. I don’t see that happening. Regardless of who the new GM is, I still think the Braves will be a playoff team by 2019. Unless of course the new GM comes in and blows up everything. And I’m talking about firing the staff and trading Freddie Freeman.

A somewhat related comment before I catch up again next Spring: The hosts of the show are pretty good. I would suggest they take a far more active role in monitoring and commenting on this section. If you want to grow the website, get more actively involved in the interaction with your readers and participants.

Find the time if your default answer is this isn’t your full time job. Otherwise, quit begging for readers to ‘tell others of the website, etc’. Up your game guys.

I think the Braves need an overhaul of biblical proportions. First off they need to tell Hart Snikter and staff thanks but no thanks. Now go to Tom Glavine and his consortium and maybe along with some local million heirs to buy the Braves and just do what the Marlins are doing. And here is how I’d and I hate to do it first off I’d offer up Freeman Kemp Vizzy and Ender to the Yankees for Dante Bichette Ryan McBoom Justus Sheffield Jacob Elsbury. I’d bring up everyone from AAA and give them a chance.

If they traded Kolby Allard, on top of all of this mess, I’m exercising my opt-out clause in my fan contract to explore my FA options.

They’ve invested all of this time into these young pitchers, and they’ve looked promising- so stay the course and let them develop. I can’t see a good reason to trade away half the farm just to push the ML team a few games over the .500 mark. If attendance goes down a bit, so be it. It’ll rebound when the team starts winning.

My hope is if they want to go for the splashy move, it’s through FA. My perfect offseason would see the Braves flip someone like Lucas Sims and a lottery ticket for Nick Castellanos, bring in two quality FA relievers like Joe Smith and Brandon Kintzler, and call it good. Give the new GM a season to look at what the club has as they transition, keep evaluating talent- and then go big next offseason if it seems a fit.

I’m sure hope Bobby C isn’t our new GM. That trade is awful on so many levels.

    Tyler Says:

Take out Kemp and Elsbury. Dante Bichette Jr and Ryan McBroom are both 25 year old non prospects who aren’t even in the Yankees top 30 lists and Sheffield who is a top prospect in baseball. So you want to trade the best first basemen in baseball, one of the top 3 center fielders in baseball (on an incredibly team friendly contract) and a solid young bullpen arm for fucking Dante Bichette Jr and Ryan McBroom???? Throwing in Sheffield wouldn’t put that in the stratosphere of even a bad trade.

Sure Weiss will be bench coach this year. But this is all a setup for him to be our manager in 2019.
