With Folty coming back and Fried being outstanding, I wouldn’t mind seeing Kyle Wright as a closer this year.

I think they see Wright as one of their highest ceiling starters and won’t go that route. I could see Bryse Wilson, with his fastball and demeanor ending up in the bullpen and maybe working his way up.

Understandable but there is such a logjam. That’s why I supported trading Tehran in the offseason. Soroka and Wright have nothing to prove in AAA yet they are currently blocked because we have Tehran, Newcombe, Fried, Folty, Gausman. They prob go 6 man rotation but eventually some of those guys including(Wilson, Toussaint) cant toil in the minors. It shall be interesting how they do this.

I’d bet good $ that they tried to trade Teheran all offseason but didn’t get any takers. With how the SP market went, $11M for Teheran was not a very attractive deal. That one inning in COL to the contrary, Julio has looked really good so far. Maybe he gets moved at the deadline.

Happy for the Braves but Ozzie should not have signed that contract. Who is his agent?? That is waaaaay under market value. The Immediate security doesnt outweigh the potential earnings. Wow. The Acuna deal made more sense for both sides.

Great start for Swanson! The Braves would be well-served by an ownership willing to spend on Starting Pitching and Relief Pitching.

Do I REALLY believe that is going to happen with Liberty Media at the helm? No.

By the way, I’d be interested in anyone’s reasoning for attending games at Suntrust Park or being present in “The Battery” during The Braves’ Home Games.

Podcast Listener – are you watching the games on TV? I get the sentiment, “ownership won’t spend on the team, so I won’t give them any money.” But TV ratings or radio ratings help them, too. I’m not telling you how to be a fan or what a good fan is (there’s too much of that bs on Braves Twitter nowadays). I’m just pointing out that by consuming the Braves in any way, no one is cleanly protesting them. As for me, as much as I’m pissed about how the offseason went and how clearly LM doesn’t care about the team, I still can’t stop going and watching and listening. The Braves are a huge passion and, frankly, a huge part of the fabric of my life. There’s no quitting them for me.
