My statistical mind has a thought to gauge the team “heat up” against the actual Atlanta temperature (here, whether they’re at home or away). That means tomorrow’s game should still be great, but slightly less great than today (like today’s was slightly more great than yesterday). That written, my inner sloth just told my statistical mind to get a life.

Totally off the eternal subject of Braves baseball but has anyone read “Beyond Belief” the story of Josh Hamilton? I just finished it and thought it was very good. If I’m being honest I’ll tell you I cried…three times. It just made me LOVE baseball even more. It helped get me through the Braves recent slump.

    I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care.

These freaks can not make me care again.

    …. . . I guess I care. I hate this sport.

Loved the game tonight…I wasn’t too surprised that we won. Daisuke Matsuzaka (IMO), was always overrated to me…he’s been playing American baseball for how long now…and he’s almost always had command issues. What better offensive support to have so you can get adjusted to the different ball & strike zone…then the help of Beantown’s offense? KK has made adjustments and gotten better like we’ve hoped. He made two mistakes tonight…the wild pitch that advanced Bay to third and the offspeed pitch to Bay that he hung, and Bay rolled it up and smoked it over the Green Monster.

Props to GA & Nate McClouth for their offense. It’s certainly nice to see GA running the bases wisely. I dunno what to say about KJ or Frenchy…for me personally the jury is still out on both of them (I guess it’s my Bobby Cox influence, Curt…hehe)…I honestly feel like those two could definitely be key players…they just need a spark of some sort offensively. I don’t believe either of them are close to their potential. Hopefully they won’t lose their trade value if and/or when that time comes.

It’s nice to see how Tommy Hanson is improving and making adjustments in the Show…he certainly seems to have a mind for the game and is smart enough to adjust his strategy in case he gets himself in trouble.

I LOVE how our rotation has shaped up. Our bullpen looks like it should be fine-tuned by the All-Star break. I think everyone has pretty much agreed on the podcast that if the offense can be consistent and give everyone a good amount of run support…then we should be vying for first place around the 4th of July.

Can’t blame them for not beating Beckett. Except for Failcouer…feel free to lay blame there.

Wonder what conversation will be like between Chipper and Escobar after the game.

Sooooooo painful. We’ll bash Bobby and Bennett tonight no doubt (and rightfully so) but the defense let us down in this game. Happy Father’s Day! Here’s another season-turning, gut punch for you.

Sadly I missed today’s game. Apparently from what I’ve read on the team’s website I’m glad I missed these last two games. Call me too optimistic…but maybe the fallout after today’s game w/ O’Flaherty, Bobby, & Chipper ejected, the spotty defense, & Bennett’s loss. Chances are we’d be in a better spot in the division race had he not blown the games. He needs to go to AAA. Yesterday. He has done some good for the team this year (not much though)…and it would be better if we send him down so we can get the most out of him.
