G’night, Leah.
Helm’s Deep. Heh. Get it?
September 2nd, 2009 at 11:05 pm
Crap. Freakin’ Rockies just went up 5-2.
Curt, you and your big fat “Five.” You made the gods angry.
September 2nd, 2009 at 11:09 pm
Yeah, Bub..but in “Helms Deep” the good guys win. Not tonight though. Dammit.
September 2nd, 2009 at 11:30 pm
Dammit, indeed.

Alright. I’ll keep my optimism to myself from now on. Rat farts.

I mentioned this two games ago, and everyone knows it, but its kinda worth repeating. Norton blows. And it was just pure stupid when Conrad was sent down months ago. This is killing us. Killing us. BC gadda go. Best thing would be we get into the playoffs. We make it to the pennant round, lose. Maybe we win. Bobby can leave on a high note….

So frustrated today. Mostly that Diaz got hit during the big rally. It seems that all the tools are there just not working at the same time. I keep coming back to Curt’s theory that this team can’t make it to the playoffs because the coach won’t let them. Let’s please win tonight!

I’m blissfully happy that my theater work now takes me away from Braves-watching for the rest of the season, because I don’t think I could bear it. That said, I’m buying season tickets next year. This is me, biting the bullet I’ve avoided for years.
Also, to tie a bow, the Hudsons have my money now.
September 3rd, 2009 at 12:45 pm
Theater work…very interesting. Good for you and the Hudsons!
September 3rd, 2009 at 3:30 pm
Anne, congrats. Though, I can’t imagine you’ll find more comedy or tragedy anywhere else.
I may be right behind her (metaphorically, of course… literally I’m right behind Leah in my van). It’s getting harder every day to justify this time away from studies, and cold turkey might be my only option. We’ll see. I swear it was easier to quit smoking than quit this friggin’ ballclub.
Tonight’s my “last” game. If the baseball gods have any mercy on me at all, we’ll lose it so I can begin Abstinence Failure #562 with no hope meter buzzing in my pocket. (Speaking of pocket buzzing, last night in my forever long Ed class, a friend of mine – ever have a friend that thinks the appropriate response to you not answering the phone is to ring it nineteen more times cuz they’re just sure you’re ignoring them for no good reason? – this friend of mine starts buzzing my phone on vibrate non stop… and since my Ed teacher is already a hottie, well…)
Sorry. I blame Curt. He brough Southpark amongst us. Katie bar the door.

DeLETE.
DeLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETE.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Bub…you cannot leave! You don’t know the comfort your van is in my rearview mirror. Who will make us laugh in the bottom of the 6th bases loaded 3-2 count? And…I need your prof’s name and number. She must be warned.
September 3rd, 2009 at 4:06 pm
Comedy & Tragedy indeed. What the Braves need is a good stage manager. A true pity…I’m busy.
September 3rd, 2009 at 6:13 pm
Met’s win.
September 3rd, 2009 at 9:11 pm
Kickboxing target for Saturday…check. Greg Norton should no longer be in the Major Leagues. 5 innings from Tommy…not ideal.
September 3rd, 2009 at 9:42 pm
well that was a bummer
September 3rd, 2009 at 9:48 pm
Curt’s latest tweet, “Bobby Cox couldn’t manage my sock drawer.” Would be funny if my heart wasn’t breaking as if it’s being smashed with a sledge hammer with every single pitch.
September 3rd, 2009 at 10:22 pm
It’s just so painful to watch these games play out. How he expects Medlen, a starter all his life, to be able to pitch out of the pen every day. We have 1 complete game this year, from Vazquez, in a loss. I’m not saying that that is Bobby’s fault, but he has ruined this bullpen again. And ruined this season, again.
September 3rd, 2009 at 10:27 pm
I’m with Bub. We’re in his van driving to a far away land where the margaritas flow and no one’s ever heard of baseball. You called it Curt, months ago when we still had the Frenchy redemption tracker and before the hope meter. BC would ruin this team and he has. Double blast. Now, I need a hug.

I was looking forward to watching the archives of these games but ewwww. Ill pass. Gotta organize my sock drawer instead.
Big Red machine is 8-2 won last 4….it never gets easier.
September 4th, 2009 at 8:49 am
Was just looking at my, gulp, actual hope in comment 102….isnt it pretty to think so?
Name that 20th century writer & novel….

For every ML team, there must be at least several blogs. I am sure a major theme of running through the postings on every one of them is how the manager is ruining the club.
September 4th, 2009 at 10:54 am
how does Bobby Cox find the time to manage other teams?
September 4th, 2009 at 11:34 am
Well, I did something last night that I’ve not done all season. Turned off the game because I couldn’t take it anymore. Also, just didn’t have the will to come here and write about it either. That’s how obscenely awful last night was. Not to state the obvious, but we really need to sweep the Reds.
September 4th, 2009 at 12:11 pm
Cannot watch tonight. Just can’t do it. My husband made a comment about last night’s 6th inning after watching SC and I about took his head off. I’m not breaking up with the Braves just yet but I do need a break.
