Steve, I only listened to a few minutes tonight, cuz I’ve GOT to go to bed (you wouldn’t believe how exhausted I am), but I can tell already it’s a great interview.
Can’t wait to hear the rest. You have nerves of steel, dude.

Huge coup for atlantabaseballtalk!! I found the interview to be entertaining and informative. Steve obviously did his homework, prior to the interview. Go Braves!

Steve, great job. I’m so jealous. What a class act Dale Murphy is. As I always say when the naysayers remind us that there isn’t a wing of the Hall of Fame for nice guys, yes, but shouldn’t there be?
It was a joy to listen to.
September 15th, 2009 at 12:45 pm
He’s probably the greatest CF in the team’s history. Would anyone take Andruw over him?
September 15th, 2009 at 1:14 pm
Steve is ‘da bomb! Great job!
September 15th, 2009 at 4:27 pm
Great show, guys. I agree that I’d rather have draft picks than Soriano or Gonzalez.
September 15th, 2009 at 4:34 pm
Great show, it’s so cool you got a chance to interview our #3. If only I had met him when he was in town with the AA club. Aargh!!!! Still though…I enjoyed the show.
September 15th, 2009 at 6:55 pm
Thanks for the interview, and thanks for not cutting the part about his service as a mission president for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He’s done a lot of good on and off the field, and all the missionaries he helped guide will never forget him.

I’ve always loved Dale Murphy…listened to many interviews and this was the greatest interview I’ve heard!! Great job!!
September 15th, 2009 at 9:05 pm
I enjoyed the interview…nice on Steve!
I am enjoying the beat down of the Mets…nice one Braves!
Keeping the DREAM ALIVE!!!!

5-0. My hope meter now is 7.38. Ever the optimist..
September 15th, 2009 at 10:16 pm
Lauren T and Marie (not a bad name for a band, by the way) – welcome to the board. And thanks to everyone for the kind words.
Tcc – my hope meter is not that high, but another fantastic win tonight. How good has the pitching been the past week+? Just ridiculous, really. Hanson did a lot for his ROY bid tonight.

Prize for best slogan for cheering Braves rest of year….
Just Hit the Snooze Button – Keep The Dream Going!!!
Hope Floats!!!

Theres a Tear in My Beer but I still Cheer!

I Might Be a Dope, But I Got (a little) Hope
September 16th, 2009 at 12:27 am
Majorly bummed that I’ve come to the must-go-to-sleep-now hour again without time to listen to Dale.
But after reading the comments I know it’ll be a treat when I get to it.
G’night ABT’ers.
September 16th, 2009 at 7:24 am
Bub, everyone’s thinking it so I’m just going to say it. Are you cheating on us? Will, time to lay off the sushi…mercury overload.
September 16th, 2009 at 7:49 am
are you saying my IQ has been reduced by mercury and so I still have hope? Mercury has addled my brain?
Nooooo…it is the simply math the it is.
the bravos are behind by 5 games in the wildcard – 7.5 behind the Phillies in the division
18 games left….they could easily SWEEP each team in the next few series’
Philllies…we can own them if offense stays hot..how bout that opening series this year?
Mets….fuggedaboutit
Nats…Marion Barry is their team mascot
ok lets get real statistically, we will drop 5 of 18… but that is .700 baseball…entirely dooable..
we have the starting pitching and now our boys McClouth, Prado, Diaz, Laroche, Escobar, Anderson…all rocking. These guys are solid.
COME ON FEEL THE NOIZE!!!
September 16th, 2009 at 8:05 am
It is with slight regret that I must ask “Don’t you mean ‘Cum’ on feel the Noise, Will?” Not trying to be dirty; just accurate.
September 16th, 2009 at 8:09 am
of course, problem is if colorado, SF or FLA plays .600 baseball we wont make it…
this is totally off the cuff…i say we have a 2 in 5 chance at the wildcard…and 1 in 3 chance at the division..simply because the Phils could choke, it has happened
which means 3 in 5 chance we dont make the wildcard and 2 in 3 chance no dice on the division…so mercury or no mercury, our chances are slim…..
still fun to cheer!!!!!!!!!!!! cmon!!!
September 16th, 2009 at 8:11 am
Hammy is right…he has the concert T-shirt so he would know…
September 16th, 2009 at 8:28 am
I was told there would be no math.
September 16th, 2009 at 11:13 am
Cannot do it Will. I jumped in with both feet three weeks ago with a 5 and a week later could not watch MLB, ESPN, read ABT comments or anything else with initials having anything to do with baseball. I would love a huge comeback but my heart cannot handle hoping. I still can’t look at the standings because it pisses me off to see how close we are and remember blown saves due to letting Ryan Howard face a right handed pitcher. Or the many games Frenchy, JS, and KJ played while Prado and Diaz were benched.
On a happier note I think we should give an award to the funniest comment of the season. My favorites are as follows (in no particular order): Hammy’s definition of a “French Kiss”, Bub’s visual aid for the Fetal Position, and Curt’s tweet about waking and spanking his children if the Braves don’t score. Of course I copied that tweet on the comment feed so Curt, if you win feel free to thank me in your acceptance speech.
September 16th, 2009 at 3:15 pm
I would like to thank all the little people. The little red bottomed people.
September 16th, 2009 at 6:23 pm
Wow I take a break from the Braves and they go and win 6 of 7 after being swept by the Reds. It’s like Joe Simpson said a couple of weeks ago “these braves are just good enough to break your heart.”
Here’s an article on Bobby managing in 2010.

Who is his replacement if he decides to retire?
September 16th, 2009 at 6:43 pm
I dont think we need one. He will come back. He always does.
