Leah & Kathryn – I hear ya. I’m disappointed too but you gotta have faith. aka I have no other life besides ABT. Have you ever tried watching sumo?
Manager 2010 – I nominate Curtis Gill, if he can spare time from his little-league duties.
Seriously tho – I like the idea somebody floated that Chipper should eventually do it. Not sure how clever and tactical he is…he might surprise us cuz you cant be a dummy and make all the hitting adjustments he has to make…but certainly the guts, integrity, the player respect would all be there.

I think you will see a Bobby Cox disciple replace him. The players will lobby for one of their own and management will look for a smooth transition. My bet right now is TP. I think Freddie Gonzalez stays in Miami hoping that the new stadium will bring an infusion of cash to round out his solid team. I’m hoping that TP brings his fire to the role, instead of just carrying the torch for Bobby, and molds the team into a hungry, aggressive unit. The team’s offensive numbers while he has been in charge have been above average, despite what I or many other people might believe to be the truth. I am not jumping up and down about it, but I think it could be worse. TP also played for Whitey Herzog, and that wouldn’t be a bad influence to add to the mix.

I don’t think this organization would make a radical change in replacing BC. TP has been hanging around waiting for his shot, so I say give it to him and let’s see what happens. With today’s athletes, I don’t think you can blame the batting coach for an individual player’s slump. They’re ready to take advice from the paper boy if they think it might work! Give TP the chance.

How can Greg Norton be at the plate?!?!?! I mean, c’mon!
September 16th, 2009 at 10:25 pm
Steve, in the BC regime, you don’t just have a bad at bat or a bad game. You have a bad season! Then we’ll see…

Leah, no way, doll. My JSU tangle is straight legit. Spanish teacher that can’t speak English. I’ve moved apartments twice. And possibly fallen in love. So, no. I promise. This is the only Bravos I catch.
September 17th, 2009 at 7:32 am
Great win although I didn’t stay up to watch it. When Gonzo gave up the homer I’ll admit I gave up the game. Bub, that’s awesome…the possibly falling in love part not the Spanish teacher who can’t speak English part. Btw, your not falling for your Spanish teacher are you?
September 17th, 2009 at 10:17 am
The only thing better than learning Spanish right now is learning Chinese. Fall in love with a Chinese Spanish teacher and you will be set for life.
Let’s not stray from what’s important. STAY ON TARGET!!…this is the Dale Murphy show for gosh sakes. We need to cheer the Braves as they make this miraculous run for the post season.

Im curious, can anybody remember where we were in 1991 at 17 games left? (or thereabouts)
As in was it a constant back and forth trading the lead between us and LA or did we come from behind?
September 17th, 2009 at 8:20 pm
The press cafeteria gets pretty star studded during a rain delay. Here’s who I just saw: Brian Jordan, Lemke, Keith Hernandez (here with the Mets broadcast team) Boog, Terry Mcguirk, Fred Hickman, Jerome J, and, last but not least, the guy that does the between innings contest stuff at the stadium.
September 17th, 2009 at 9:04 pm
Steve shmoozing with the Stars…will he forget the little people? BTW, Steve, who’s taller, Jerome J or Chip C?
September 17th, 2009 at 10:51 pm
Jerome is like 8 and half feet tall. It’s not even close.
September 17th, 2009 at 11:01 pm
Lovin the tweets Steve…keep ‘em coming!
September 17th, 2009 at 11:14 pm
Steve, if you get the chance, after the game could you get me an autograph from TP saying: Thanks Tcc for being such a fantastic, loyal fan, signed, Terry (soon to be the next Braves Mgr) Pendleton. It would mean a lot to me!!! Kidding, of course. We envy you.
September 17th, 2009 at 11:14 pm

September 17th, 2009 at 11:28 pm

September 18th, 2009 at 12:13 am
Steve – tell us true: Boog came to the press cafeteria for seconds if not thirds…or just grazed the entire time. Right?
September 18th, 2009 at 12:30 am
Will, I love it.
September 18th, 2009 at 12:36 am
The Braves have won 7 mother freaking games in a row??????????
