Wait, I’m wrong. It was in Spring of this year. I think. Ugh. I used to have a good memory.

Not to plug another sports podcast on ABT…but I’m going to, merely because it’s not a direct competitor. Have I plugged “Only a Game” out of Boston? So great. It covers nearly every sport and “sport” you can think of. Bill Littlefield makes me happy, even with his lame rhymes each week. I recommend everyone who hasn’t heard of it, check it out at least once.

Oh no Bub! I’m so sorry! That’s it..no more jokes from me. I’ve offended anyone whose ever struggled with substance abuse and made you think of your poor puppy.
Anne, if the Rev hears I’m listening to another podcast he may put me on notice. No more time.

No no, Leah. It’s not like that. I like thinking about her. I just re-watched her on video. I’m not THAT fragile. Also the detox thing wasn’t me being offended, it was me being careful not to offend.
So, d’you hear the one about the puppy that O.D.’d on crack? Okay, that’s bad…

Ok. I’m still tramatized. I couldn’t have joked about my pit-bull could I?

Re ABT history…this is how I know it…Curt and Ham and I were born raised grew up in Atlanta and went to the same high school. Steve moved to ATL about 1990-91? and Ham and Steve worked at a theater in Atlanta called Barking Dog.. (?) as both actors and producers (?) Ham left ATL for NYC in 1998? and worked in consulting and then moved to Boston in about 2000? and started his own consulting biz but keeps in touch with all the ATL folks and him and Steve must have just out of the blue decided they love the Braves so much they had to tell the world about it…About a year(18 mo?) ago Ham had a really nice party at his house and we all got together and Ham was “hey guys…check out this thing Steve and I are doing”. Among our friends in ATL Curt and I were only listeners at the time…but since Curt’s baseball brain is very very big…it was natural that they had him on as a guest and then a regular….I am an simpleton/idiot who just watched the Braves on TV all my life because my dad and half-breed relatives can only manage to talk about the Braves, the Dogs, and barbecue. I weave in and out of Atlanta due to my job, and my job has kept me in Japan since 2001. I love ATL, the Braves, and ABT!!

Now is the time for my bi-monthly resolve to ditch my internet addiction and sports obsession and get started with some sort of life. I’ll spare you all the long, weird goodbye. Lord knows I’ll be back unless something better finally happens. Bye, Leah. Be good to the Rev.

After hours of scrolling and a water break for rehydration followed by more scrolling I have come to the “Submit Comment” box. whew. Will, thanks for the history. Really cool. I have learned so much from the podcasts, blogs and message board this season and look forward to the seasons to come.
Funny how Bub gave up his sports obsession days before the Iron Bowl. I guess he needs time to gather his face paint, stock up on beer and learn “Rammer Jammer” in Spanish. Now whose gonna post hilariously entertaining comments so I’m not driven to insanity by mornings of “YO Gaba Gaba” and afternoons of very long middle school basketball games? Huh? WHO?
“Be good to the Rev.” Easiest job in the world

RF Nick Swisher is available according to Bob Nightengale.
November 19th, 2009 at 4:51 pm
Leah: I didnt really answer why or how Steve and Ham got it started tho….because I dont know. Maybe they are better for that? Im curious too…
Bub- dont be a stranger, your fans will be dissapointed.

“This is ‘Hot Ham’ and Steve’s House of Braves Talk”…how far you’ve come.
November 19th, 2009 at 8:51 pm
Will…yeah, thanks for some history of the podcast. I’d been wondering about that too.
Vazquez fourth in the CY voting…good on him! I’d keep him..

What do we know about Lee Hyde? Could he be successful in the bullpen in 2010?
November 20th, 2009 at 7:38 pm
Hyde is really high on the Braves’ radar. He’s been hurt a lot which has really hampered his progress through the minors, but he has pitched well when he has.
DOB just wrote about him:

November 22nd, 2009 at 9:39 pm
Not that anyone will notice due to the new podcast.
November 22nd, 2009 at 9:40 pm
That’s right folks! NEW PODCAST!
November 22nd, 2009 at 9:44 pm
Too tired to think of clever things…oh well. Bub will be so disappointed.
