…answer.

Leah…little and cute got Marcus Giles nowhere…why should it get young Nate anywhere??

(BTW and off-topic, but I like to both keep Bub informed and empty my brain. “That old chestnut” means a stale joke that gets told over and over and usually refers to nothing important whatsoever. Example: Austin Powers International Man of Mystery…Dr. Evil: “I never knew my birth parents. There was a car accident. My birth mother was incinerated, and I only survived because her smoking carcass had formed a protective cocoon of slaughtered human effluence. A Belgian man and his fifteen year-old love slave were looting the accident scene, and came across a blood soaked baby, moi. They raised me to be evil. You know, that old chestnut.”)

Anne, got it. Good info.

Cause Nate’s fast and puts the fear of the baseball gods in pitchers when he gets on base. Also, I don’t know that I’d call MG cute. Maybe in a funny looking way. DOB just quoted Wrenn as saying J. Schafer will likely start minor league but those decisions won’t be made official in November. His wrist is healing ahead of schedule.
That’s the latest Twitter update from your local ABT anchor.
November 11th, 2009 at 1:49 pm
Specifically, he said J. Schafer will likely start minor league for the Washington Nationals.
November 11th, 2009 at 2:22 pm
Wow…somehow I missed that minor detail. Now he’s a center fielder who could use contacts.
November 11th, 2009 at 9:39 pm
Wren needs to figure out how to get Adrian Gonzalez without giving away a Tex type haul. Schafer/Medlen/et al.
November 11th, 2009 at 10:39 pm
Curt, what about trading Vazquez to a high-dollar contender for a top prospect, and then packaging that top prospect with Freeman and Schafer for Gonzalez?

Hello from the ATL airport all you ABT’ers! See me waving to you all? Except for Will and Hammy of course…’cause that’d just be silly.

This has nothing to do with baseball and maybe I’m just bored but this song is ah-mazing.

Good GRIEF, Leah. I went through about five of their songs after the first one. That’s the best songwriting I’ve been introduced to in a long, long time.

This is the one…

This commercial break is not close to over. “I and Love and You” is their best album by far. The song Tin Man is Curt’s theme song. Just kidding. Bub you also need to hear At the Beach, Murder in the City and The Ballad of Love and Hate. Finally, you haven’t experienced The Avett Brother’s until you see them live.
Now, back to baseball.

Yeah for Huddy!

“Don’t dismiss that Uggla-to-left-field rumor. It’s a legit possibility” -David O’Brien
*does the hokey pokey*

“Aint it like most people, I’m no diff’rent, We love to talk on things we don’t know about.”
November 12th, 2009 at 1:14 pm
Okay, are you hacking me now? That’s the tune I’m listening to right now.
November 12th, 2009 at 1:14 pm
I’m glad that the Huddy thing is done. I was starting to get a little worried. It was feeling like some bad flashback to last year’s off-season.
Now let’s figure out a way to get Lowe out of town and keep Vazquez. I’m still convinced that’s their 1st choice.
The Uggla thing is certainly interesting (so long as Prado stays in place). He’d be a big bat. How many years of service does he have? In other words, when does he become a free agent? And how uggly would he be in left field?
November 12th, 2009 at 1:56 pm
Bub, that’s just CREEPY! I’m glad you’re enjoying The Brothers. They are crazy talented. Btw, I just drove by Bryant Denney Stadium as I atey Milo’s fries. You do live Milo’s right? Every Bama boy loves Milo’s
Haha Steve. I hope Uggla comes to Atlanta just because the jokes would be limitless. I am also worried about Prado and I can’t wait to dump Lowe!
November 12th, 2009 at 1:57 pm
Ate…love…don’t comment while driving.
November 12th, 2009 at 2:34 pm
Leah, are they from the South? “talk on things” and a few more of their phrases are pretty downhome. And downhome, conversational language fitted into really edgy, introspective expressions is the songwriting that really, really knocks me out. John Prine et al. (Of course, John’s from Chicago, but whatever…)

From a farm outside of Concord, NC. You must go to a concert. The Cellist is so good he often sounds like a woodwind. “She knows which birds are singin’. And the names of the trees where they’re performin’.”. Yes, very southern.

Check out I killed Sally’s Lover and Shame.
“Boatloads of Shame”.
November 12th, 2009 at 3:23 pm
I’ll check them all out later, I’d better peel myself off this computer and do some school. (Just finished with the ballad of love & hate, powerful stuff, though, metaphysically speaking, a bit screwy. I know, I know…)
Anyways, what a blast to know this band. I’ll buy “I and Love and You” (terrible album name, lol, just awful – but I loved every single song) as soon as I can get my happy little hands on it. Thanks for the link.
Go Braves, and GOOOO DAAAANNNNN UUUUGGGGGLLAAAA!!!
