I just read the finances of the Bay contract!
WOW!
That’s a bad bad bad deal…
Bay isn’t worth more than 13M a year, man he’s got a good agent that can take advantage of intelligently challenged GM. (You see? I was PC,
)

How’s the 2 year old Curt? Hate it when kids are sick.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:41 am
JJ – that might be the case, but that doesn’t change the color of the money. Whether it’s a hat for my kid or for T Pain (is there such a person?) it’s still money going to the team.
Hopefully Bay pulls a Beltran and never lives up to the money. The Mets love throwing money after money to get nothing concrete out of it.
2 year old is better. Thanks. I think he is ready to be home in his own bed, as we all are.

I think the correct spelling it “T-Payne”
I have no idea.

Those of you on Twitter have probably seen this. I think it’s well said and I have a sneaking suspicion Curt is the ghost writer.

That’s a good article. I have to admit it’s pretty convincing, even if it backs my favorite Podcast Villain.
I would only add that teams in “the year before their supposed to be really good” often go ahead and become really good. How many times have you heard it said, “… and this wasn’t even supposed to be their year. Next year was when everybody said it was on track to come together.”
Go Braves. 2010 or 2011. Hell, we’ve already waited this long.

Can we have AG midseason? Please? Is that even an option?
December 30th, 2009 at 8:19 pm
I’m sorry if I keep posting stuff you’ve already seen but I wanna know if you guys agree with this assessment.

I actually like the Woodford Reserve League MLB Sunday Red unis. For a while it seems like that spot fell to Smoltz when he still had his good stuff. Sure, it’s a marketing thing but I have good memories of having the tv on in the garage/basement and the earbuds in, listening to the radio broadcast while I would do yard work. When something big happened I would run back inside to see the replay.

THANK YOU TCC! I was too embarrassed to say it but I like the red unis also! Of course, I’m also a fan of church softball so it makes sense.

Bub, are you mourning the loss of KJ today?
December 30th, 2009 at 9:31 pm
Yeah, kind of.
My honest hope is that he’ll become a .290 hitter with consistent pop, and that somebody in the F.O. will finally wake up concerning our hitting coach.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:33 pm
Bub, not sure about your point there. Red, yes but they don’t have that home grown look which we love, right? One of the most important things my dad passed down to me was the love of a tomato sandwitch with mayo and a thin slice of vidalia onion. Man! I can’t wait for that!
December 30th, 2009 at 9:37 pm
Opinions please: What do we think about TP as a Manager vs a hitting coach?
December 30th, 2009 at 9:41 pm
Tcc, have you heard the song “Home Grown Tomatoes”? My dad used to sing it when I was little.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:46 pm
No, no, no to TP as a manager. The Francoeur thing was enough to show that. He’s too timid, passive aggressive. He got his feelings hurt with Frenchy about the Texas guy and just held it in and let it fester. And then made a second mistake by admitting that to the press. Too personal. Too icky.
We need a guy who is either very relaxed or else very confident (both would be nice). TP is neither.

Yes, tomato sandwiches are the best, w/ black pepper.
But I like kiwi, too. Not for a uniform color.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:00 pm
Checked it out, ILB. Great sentiment there! Bub, so do we go “home grown” with Fredi Gonzales? Snitker? Or someone from the outside?? Who would that be?
December 30th, 2009 at 10:03 pm
Good night all..bedtime and hoping not to wake up to ice or snow!
December 30th, 2009 at 10:04 pm
I don’t know much about Fredi, but from what little I know, I like the idea. What about Eddie P?
(I’m running downstairs to do laundry, so I’ll pick up here later. Congrats on your Tigers’ win over Kentucky. Ruined my hopes at an SEC sweep, though.)
