I can’t claim to get into most classical music, but I absofreakinglutely love me some Beethoven. Any fans?

    A resonable rant:

Bub..what Beethoven are you getting off on? Symphonies? Piano Concertos? Brilliant stuff. When I finally faced up to going back to school, the first class I signed up for was Music Appreciation. I knew there was “Classical” stuff that I liked and stuff I couldn’t stand. A little education helped me learn a lot about the differences.

Beethoven over Brahms, Bach over both. Eddie Perez for next mgr.

    Go Braves.

    Bubdylan Says:

See, I want to like Bach. I know I’m supposed to. For the most part, it’s over my head. Here’s a nice exception (no, not cuz the gal’s so pretty) This piece really moves me.

I was listening to the Mr. B’s 7th.

Eddie gets my vote fer shizzle. Go Bravos.

    Bubdylan Says:

Youtube is the only place in the world where you can dial up a 33 minute Beethoven symphony and the observers are threatening to kill each others’ mothers because one guy thinks the conductor’s hair flicks around too much and the other doesn’t. Strange times.

Bub Dylan wins…that’s the best photo they could find. Sad really. Bub, since you’re talking music…I went to a house concert tonight and heard Sandra McCracken. Have you heard of her. You’d like her. Sorry Cledus, no banjo.

    Dammit! Blew my cover.

    Curt Says:

    No on Eddie.

Beethoven is beautiful but very heavy. Very deep. I like some Brahms. Vivaldi is nice.

    Tcc Says:

Bach’s “Chaconne” is one of his finest moments. Originally written for harpsichord, right Leah? EP has been learning lots in the off season as a manager..I just hope that he has gotten the experience he needs to be considered a candidate to replace BC.

#7 is a good one. #3 was historical and #6 is great for a doobie and a beer. I didn’t say that.

Billy Wagner out sick? Any insider info on that??

    Go Braves.

  14. 139
    Princess Leah Says:

I don’t really listen to a lot of classical music myself. Although during Jr. High and High School I was trained Vocally in the Classical genre. Yes, I’m a nerd.

  15. 140
    Princess Leah Says:

Wagner has a cold. Why not EP Curt?

  16. 141
    Bubdylan Says:

Actually, Leah, there is banjo in Sandra Mac. It’s the twangy thingy all through “Thy Mercy…” 8)

Tcc, I never had a bit of luck with any doobie. Uncomfortable experience(s). Maybe Beethoven’s 6th is what I was missing. Be right back. (j/k)

Curt, maybe the heaviness is what draws me into Beethoven. Most of the classical stuff which I can’t relate to I end up thinking of as too light and airy (Mozart especially). I’m always just ready for the elevator to stop. I’m sure it’s a deficiency I could overcome if I listened enough to develop my palate.

    Why no Eddie? Hater.

I haven’t heard anything on Wagner except that he’s sick. Not a big deal, I wouldn’t think. Let’s save as much of his batteries as we can. He’s ahead of everybody anyways from what I gather.

  17. 142
    Tcc Says:

PL, you will never be nerdier than me. I play the banjo, listen to harpsichord music, grow azaleas and even think that the Braves are contenders. Jeez…I wish I hadn’t said that last thing…

  18. 143
    Bubdylan Says:

Ha ha! Post of the month, Tcc.

  19. 144
    Tcc Says:

Thanks, Bub, but I vote for #131. What? Nobody thought that was funny???

  20. 145
    Bubdylan Says:

Now, if you had backed it up with “they got a good double meat burger” (Scooter in Sling Blade)…

  21. 146
    Bubdylan Says:

The lemon tea-flavored version of generic Crystal Lite powder: not good.

  22. 147
    Tcc Says:

Might be a good time for a nap…a long Winter’s nap. What’s the best thing about the “if’s”??? No one is talking about B Mac…Solid as a rock!

    Go Braves.

  23. 148
    Will Says:

Hanging out w/head of MLB here in Tokyo and he says Sox didnt resign Saito for age and Wagner cuz he wanted closer spot. Also says two viewd on Kawakami- one is that he settles in after ajustment year- so hes as good or better. But second is that he doestnt have much pitch variety and ML hitters are figuring him out.

  24. 149
    Bubdylan Says:

Will, does your wife love or hate “Lost in Translation?”

  25. 150
    Princess Leah Says:

Well phooey. Thought I was bringing something new to the table. I also thought Age to Age was the only song that would show on the link. Which, if I’m not mistaken, has no twangy thing. “Thy Mercy…” is a fave!
