Wassa matta, Princess? No broadcast? I’d give you play by play, but I gotta go to Playwriting in about 5 minutes.

Not sure about his options. I know the Braves had a lot of flexibility with their bullpen because so many guys did have options, even Jo Jo and Acosta.

If sucktitude for me equals missing a ballgame I guess my life’s pretty good *says as with a pokey out bottom lip*. Bub, can I borrow your computer while you go to class?
March 2nd, 2010 at 3:14 pm
I’m getting play by plays from At Bat…just difficult in the carpool line. And it’s snowing…again.
March 2nd, 2010 at 3:26 pm
I love the enthusiasm for the first spring training game. If we keep up this pace we are all going to have ulcers by mid-season. Who cares – it’s baseball, people. BASEBALL!!!!!

And Curtis, sorry for the slight. I thought you had said that you had only watched a couple of episodes. That comment was meant for anyone who saw a few episodes, not just (mistakenly) you.

Bub – I don’t know what your textbook is for Playwriting, but you should read Naked Playwriting: The Art, The Craft, And The Life Laid Bare. I forget who wrote it, but it is an awesome book. Not only for playwriting but just for writing in general.
I imagine that it could make the average person an amazing blogger, especially for a topic that they are passionate about. (cue Leah . . .)

Resop – instant dividends.

Hammy’s testing my filter…so tempted…but I’ll stick to my guns and holster my Top 10 list. Ok boys and Anne and Theresa and who knows, maybe Kathryn…tell me what ya think. J. Hey seemed to have a fair day. I like the Sammons/Freeman pick off first.

“I imagine that it could make the average person an amazing blogger, especially for a topic that they are passionate about.”
So what would it do for a way above average person? Gotta spread the Bub-love.
March 2nd, 2010 at 5:13 pm
I didn’t want to overplay my hand, but I was hoping that Bub would read it and say “wait, an average person could be an amazing blogger?! What about me?! WHAT ABOUT ME!?!” You and I are on the same wavelength, Leah.

Hammy, we’re using Alan Ayckbourn’s “The Crafty Art of Playmaking.” It’s very informal and conversational. No exercises.
Love the title of your rec’d book. I’ll have to check it out.
Our professor’s instructions on the book were “Read it. Use the ideas if you want to. Okay, go write a play.” And I’m pretty sure I’m the only one who even read the book. So, not much instruction per se. Luckily, I’m BRILLIANT.
We had a reading for my one-act today. A dozen 22 year olds are convinced I’m really going places! I’ll always remember you people.
Internet addiction’s wreaking havoc on my classwork as it is. My idea for a Braves Blog is so ambitious (you just wouldn’t even believe…) that I’d sink like a stone in school. Thanks for the gratification, but I’ve gotta get myself together. (Same song, next verse.)

Awe dang, sorry I blew Bub’s entrance.
March 2nd, 2010 at 5:55 pm
More set-ups for guy humor? In the middle of the afternoon?
March 2nd, 2010 at 5:56 pm
Can’t resist.
That’s what SHE said!

Over the line?
March 2nd, 2010 at 6:22 pm
I have to say: how awesome is it that Jason Heyward took two walks today?
The national press is running wild with the smashed car business. The local press has just lost their minds, so any grown man, much more (you like that Leah? “Much more” is proper there!) a 20 year old, would have to go into the first ST game at least SLIGHTLY tempted to leeeeeean toward the side of aggression. If it was Frenchy, he’s have struck out on two pitches and corkscrewed himself to China.
But not our guy. He stands up there with a strike zone the size of a small car and if they can’t get it in there, he ain’t swingin’. Even knowing these early pitchers might be his best chance to make a splash.
Maturity, thy name is Heyward. “Yes, I’ll have two cool walks, a hot single, and a large stolen base.”
Love it.
Chavez? Is that alls you havez? Pffff.
March 2nd, 2010 at 7:15 pm
I absolutely am on pins and needles to see that guy swing a bat. One of our friends is at Disney all week. Life just isn’t fair is it. Love the walks, love the running hard and fast to get to 2nd, LOVE stealing third in the first ST game of the year, love love love.
Bub, the set up was quite unintentional I assure you. Yikes! I have no room to talk though. I half expected to be reprimanded for some of my recent posts that I will NOT point out. I was a bit afraid we might have a Mr. Knightly vs. Emma moment paralleling the scene at the picnic when she “burns” Ms. Bates. Don’t worry about it Curt…way before your time.
March 2nd, 2010 at 7:39 pm
Not before my time, Leah. I loved that episode of The Hills.
March 2nd, 2010 at 8:16 pm
Okay. Gotta admit the problem, it’s a hard thing to admit.
Dishes are piled up. Missed Lit class and a Spanish class this week. So far. I’m closing up the lap top and stashing it with my sister till Friday. What a retarded addiction.
I’ll see you freaks on Friday.
GO BRAVES!!!
March 2nd, 2010 at 8:58 pm
Don’t feel too bad Leah. Those people are dropping 12k to be at Disney for a week.
March 2nd, 2010 at 9:46 pm
(Late to the party)
Excellent interviews as usual. Do you think J-Hey will do such interviews before making the team?
March 2nd, 2010 at 9:52 pm
Danny, welcome. Thanks for joining us.
We are working on it, but I think they are going to keep his time pretty restricted for now. That’s my sense. There is so much hype around him right now that I think they want to control access to him as much as possible.
March 2nd, 2010 at 10:09 pm
Thanks Curt but that helps a very little bit. Bub better get some great grades since we’re having to make such a huge sacrifice. Hiya Danny. How are you at puns?
March 3rd, 2010 at 12:13 am
Hi all. Just got back from Athens seeing our buddy Scott (voice of the intro and outro) in a play at UGA. Damn good. He’s really a stunningly good actor.
The only player out of options is Melky.
I, too, loved Heyward’s (I’m not quite committed to J-Hey) walks today. And, the added bonus of every compliment of his game being a criticism of Frenchy’s is just a tremendous gift.
