The #1 rule of Spring Training:
It only counts if we win.

Is anyone watching the game? How did Wagner and Saito look?
March 9th, 2010 at 9:47 pm
Sorry Steve, I tuned in late and didn’t get to see them pitch. Bravos about to lose the game but it’s so great seeing them on the tube again. Go Braves!

Great show guys. Glad to be back on board listening. Makes my Monday drive in (except this week) much more pleasant.
I had a question about a point raised during the show with Martin. You all seemed to chime in that we weren’t forced to play guys like last year, and I wasn’t sure what you were talking about. Was that because of injury, or contract stuff?
Thanks. And Keep up the good work!
March 9th, 2010 at 9:56 pm
Well, where it counted, our pitcher got jacked by a good hitter and our hitters got stopped by a great pitcher. Disappointing, but not embarassing. A hit and a walk for Heyward, if it’s true they awarded him a hit on that possible error. Chipper got good wood. Glaus hit.
Way to go, Acosta.
Concerns: McLouth, McLouth, McLouth.

Thats what she said.
March 9th, 2010 at 10:07 pm
Ha!
What was I thinking?!
March 9th, 2010 at 10:13 pm
Wade, that talk was about guys with minor league options. You can only send guys down a certain number of times before they have to clear waivers. In the past few years we have had guys like Blaine Boyer who were out of options and could be claimed by any team should they be sent down so the Braves were kind of forced to keep them on the major league roster or risk losing them. This year, they don’t have any guys that are out of options so no one will have to make the team that might not necessarily deserve it.

They stole my nickname!

I gotta start copyrighting this stuff.

Cool. Thanks Curtis. Two other questions:
1) Have all the problems from last year with McCann’s eyes been completely healed up? Is he back in contacts and seeing things clearly?
2) What is the overall feeling on the job McDowell has done? I don’t get the same feeling of awe and reverence for him that Leo garnered, but is he a solid coach?
Easing my way back into this…

Finished the podcast earlier this week. Nice job, guys. Missed you, young Hamilton. Bub: agreed on Norton. I typed something witty via thumbs at the hairdresser this evening about Gandy transcribing interviews, making me reminisce about my younger days…and then I hit the stupidest Crackberry key EVER and lost it all. Wasn’t worth re-typing. Go Braves!

I have a question…if Frenchy had stayed Frenchy and not turned into Failcoeur where would we have put J-Hey Kid (kudos Hammy)? Of course it doesn’t matter or make any dif I was just wondering. Remember when Hamilton said a “Frenchy” kiss was when you lick her cheek by mistake? Remember that? Definitely one of the funnies comments.

Absolutely hilarious comment from DOB this morning on his blog. The last line of his first comment of the morning was this, “Oh, and Heyward just finished a second bowl of cereal.”

Nomah just retired. Too bad that guy could never live up to his potential. Being a GT guy, I was always rooting for him.

I’ll say this for the Atlanta Braves; the Phillies are a good looking ballclub.
