Princess, no, our bullpen isn’t shaky at all. There’s always a mid relief guy or two that teams hate to see put in. We’re in great shape. See above regarding Medlen and Moylan.
Medlen, Moylan, Wags, Saito, EOF, and Proctor will be 6/7 of our bullpen. That is very, very strong. Even if Jo Jo or Chavez fill the 7th spot, he can mop up when we’re way ahead or way behind. That guy is always needed.

My Medlen love is growing. The more I look into his stats and highlights, the more I feel I’ve overlooked a tremendous asset.

watching the Phillies game from a few days ago. Bobby V speaking Japanese…McCann hot at the plate and behind the plate. I love how Melky plays – bit of a spaz – but huge heart. What DOB says about him in the clubhouse is maybe also coming out on the field. Do they really need to work on him to change him to “the Braves way” like Bobby V was saying? I dont want careless play…but Me likey Melky.

I’m a little surprised “better Nate than never” isn’t in the line up today. Wouldn’t you want to keep that hitting streak alive? Maybe he’ll come in later. So happy to wave good bye to Acosta.

Yeah, she was doing a show for Planet Green that we were doing PR for. Very nice woman. She’s committed to this “Do Not Mail List” cause which is like the do not call list, except being on this one prevents you from getting unwanted catalogs and junk mail. Great idea considering all the trees wasted to produce this stuff. Problem is that the USPS gets paid a ton of money by these companies and can’t afford to lose that revenue now or any other time. So it ain’t happening. On a side note, I was also on the phone with the Postmaster General a few weeks ago. Expect 5 day mail service very soon.

What kind of Azaleas? The pink kind? I have no idea. I thought they usually bloom by now but maybe Easter’s just really early this year. The main reason for my concern is they bloomed in December crazy things.
Having settled that, I’m tired of Spring Training. I’m ready for the real deal! I was checking out past ABT shows (needed to be entertained during my weed pulling) and noticed only 20 or so comments for shows from a year ago. My how far you’ve come. Thanks in part to all the Avett, gardening, TBS, TWSS randomness. Speaking of random…I found the best dress at LLBean. It’s red with navy trim! I will own it!

Yikes. Just added up the innings and earned runs allowed by the 7 guys the Mets have used as starters. Santana, Maine, Perez, Pelfrey, Figgy, Nieve, and some other dude.
88 innings pitched. 62 runs allowed. Nobody’s north of 5.00 ERA. So… it’s us and the Marlins chasing the Phils, then?

What the hell’s all this about trading Ross??? I’m about to be very grumpy.
•The Braves have told other clubs that David Ross is available, “possibly in a catcher-for-catcher swap for a younger backup-catcher type.” -MLBTR

Nobody. Makes absolutely zero sense. I can’t make the rumor make any sense at all unless Ross has requested a trade to somewhere he can play every day. No reason to make a catcher-for-catcher deal when you already have the best back-up catcher there is – what IS that?
If we get a younger, upside type, how will that help us rest McCann this year?? And if it’s a younger guy who could produce immediately, why would any team swap us that just to get the older guy?
I smell a rat.

Bub – Loved your Beatles/Heyward post on DOB’s blog … Particularly the One After 909 line. Damn there’s some great songs on Let it Be. Anyway.
The Ross thing is either nothing or the Braves, given that this is the final year of his contract, are looking to pinch pennies if they can in a catcher for catcher swap, assuming that they won’t re-sign him for the money he might garner at the end of the year. It also means that they have NO faith in Sammons.

Poor Ross. Do guys take things like this personally? I’d get my feelings hurt. Speaking of feelings…very funny post Bubdylan however, don’t go and get swallowed up in DOB’s board or we will have a problem. Remember some of us have very tiny screens and looking at 5 million comments to find one’s friends is borderline miserable. Just don’t forget…”Hell hath no fury.”
